Car friendly retirement area (warm)
:LOL:Hey guys I will be retiring in a couple of years and have started to search areas for car friendly city.
I live in Florida now and they are very restrictive about working on your own car at home, if you spit they will cite you. They go around lifting car covers on your vehicles to see if they are tagged in my own driveway. Man that’s bad....
So when we retire we would like to move to a more rural setting with maybe 3 to 5 acres where we can work on our cars and not be bothered by nosey people or public officials.
We would also like to move to an area that has a lot going on as far as car shows and swap meets and maybe a flea market or two.
I am a car show Judge so I would like to stay active in that area.
We are Ford people thru and thru but we still enjoy looking at everyone’s hard work no matter whar they drive.
We will be traveling to Moultrie Ga swap meet in Nov and look around that area to see if it is a car town or not...
Any ideas or a direction to start looking would be great.
Thanks
Rod and Alicia
car friendly retirement area
If you still want to stay in FL, check out the other coast, we live in Melbourne, and I have had numerous mustangs sitting in my back yard, and at this time I have an original 71 Mustang Funny car body sitting in the back yard, with a 4 foot fence that all can see the body, even with its for sale sign on it (know of anyone looking for one?), and not one person has ever complained.
Now if I could retire somewhere else I would look at the Lake Haveseu area, or Phoenix, as they are in AZ, and within 5 hours of most of the central/southern car shows in CA. You could hit everything from the grand national roadster show, to the Monterey historics, Bakersfield nostalgic drags, and even the Fresno autorama. You are retired, soooo make a 4 day weekend at going to some of these shows. Being in AZ you won't have to deal with CAs taxes, or laws, and still be close enough to enjoy their car events.
