Is Street Rod Builders mag still available? I've searched on some subscription mag site and it was not available.

The last issue sent was Volume 10 Number 4 dated May/June '09. There have been no communications to subscribers that I am aware of - seems to be dead.Roger

Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
MSD 8360 distributor vacuum advance
