Thumbs up Playing Pet Vet tonight.

My Boxer started dropping puppy boxers to night at about 10 pm.
I was laying in bed when I hear this little whine and look over the side
    on the floor.
There lies a brand new puppy on my rug.
Anyway it's 12:30 and we are up to 5 now so she dropping one every half hour. I figure she will have 10 to 12, she had 8 her first litler just like her mom did. Then her mom had 12 puppies every litter after that.
My wife would like 12 but I would like 8, 8 is enough work for me.
I have to admit when they are about a month old I take them on my Veranda out front of the house, and they are a blast to watch play.
You have to love them though because it is alot of work.
We had people tell us that our dogs are so adapted to people and loving they just can't believe it. That's because my wife and I love on them pups and play with them the whole time we have them. We just don't lock them in a cage and go out to feed them once in a while. We take them out side 4 times a day on a cocrete Veranda to play with them and love on them.
We never let them in the grass so they won't get any diseases till they have had all thier shots at 8 weeks. Like I said you have to really love it to do it.
And my wife and I do, though I should have said to do it right.
To many breeder's just shove them in a cage untill they are sold.
That's not how you get a good dog though, you gotta give them lovin.

Yahoo...new pups,,grunting snorting, crawly pups...Love it..I hear ya,eight is enough, been there, done that.. I had eight german shepherd pups racing around the yard at eight weeks[some years back],terrorising the cats, and anyone who was foolish enough to come in and squat down to play with them....Needle sharp teeth on ya landing gear is NO joke....Still havent got a dog around here at the present time,,but the time isnt too far away...
    Have fun with those puppies,Kurt...

Thanks Lamin8r; There is 8 so far now make it 9.
The wife just started yelling here comes one.
I know what you mean about sharp little teeth.
I made the mistake of hand feeding a litter at
Thanksgiving. Nothing like pulling two bloody
stumps were your hands were. But that was thier
first hand feeding by me and thier last.
The next time I hand fed them with a slingshot.
I had to save some of my limbs for the next litter.

Aww,mate... the bloody fingers, brings back memories...the cats didnt forget them either...i had one part persian who wanted to get close for a look...Four 6 week old puppies descended on him at once, for a ''look''...all pulling and jerking in different directions...the cat took off, only to stop a few yards away, and it happened again..slow learners, some animals...

HE! HE! HE! sounds like loads of fun, atleast for the pup's.
Well thank God my Boxer stopped at 10 pup's last night.
Though the wife and I didn't get any sleep till about 7am.
Then only for a couple hours before we had to get up.
But like I said you have to love this to do it right.
Mama just said if I go get some tomato's that she will
make me some of her awsome tuna melts, so I am off.

We do the same as you when we have pups at our house, People would rather get them from us when we have them in the rescue.

Sounds like fun, Vara4, us humans have to work twice as hard to give the "unconditional Love" that we get from our Pets.

Good Luck with the Litter !

CONGRATULATIONS MUMMY and DADDY on your brand new family. I love boxers dogs, their are soo insane, puppy like for sooo many years before they grow up. I have a blind cockerpoo dog that is soooo spoilt. Yes I agree with you Melloyello, it is a shame that humans haven't learned how to give unconditional love to each other as dogs can when raised right.

It was funny to watch our last litter as I would take all 8 of them out of thier pen and set them down. They would race me to the front door then turn around and sit down as to say are you comming. Our big male would go out to and play with the pup's, he would lay down roll over on his back and be totaly over come by 8 little bitting pup's.
After a while he would roll over and jump up with this look on his face like this was not a good idea!!! Then him and the pup's would start chasing each other around.
Yep I could watch them play all day long, they are just that fun to watch.

Kurt, watching any animals play, specially pups and kittens, are one of the best therapies you can have,,I have spent hours watching kittens cavort around playing silly beggars,,,and watching my German Shepherd chase my Cavalier King Charles around too,[extremely hard little dog, brought up with a GSD ya need to be]
Dont really know why I havent got another dog at the moment...

I hear you lamin8r;I won't be with out one now.
First because I enjoy them so much and second because they are good alarm systems.
Our economy has been getting worse in this area and the rate of home invassion has doubled. And most of the invassions ended up with one or both of the home owners killed. That's not to mention my 70 year old uncle that lived up in Canton,Ohio that was killed during a home invassion.
All I need is a couple extra seconds to get to one of my wepons to make sure this guy won't be doing anymore home invassions in the future.

    Hey Lamin8r;
They are doing good, getting big and strong.
And there is nothing wrong with thier lungs either.
They let the mama know when it's feeding time.

I am pleased to hear that Kurt..I always thought that boxers, among other similar short snouted breeds, had a bit of a breathing problem sometimes,as pups..so its good to hear that they are growing well, heck, its only been a week...Mama is obviously doing her job well...
