    Bin a while

Hey guys, been a year or two since I've been on here, just thought I'd say hi and let you know that I am finally building my dream shop, lol. what a long process it has been, dealing with the neighbors, lol. I have no idea why they didn't want me to build my shop 30' tall.

But I can't find the SHOP photos thread. Help.

    Bob

And I was believing we down here had trouble with the local authorities to get building consents. Talking to a fellow rodder friend yesterday who owns a property out in the country who wants to build a large workshop to start his own rod shop and the authorities have placed such an unrealistic decibel levels that if one fired up the v8 at night, the law could pouce on you and close you down.

I hear you. Took me 3 years, meetings, redrawings, thousands of engineering costs, variance application, only to start and be shut down again. The 10' high concrete with another 10' sticking out on top sat for 18 months, lol

The stupidity of this,is that people are leaving the cities,to live out a little further in the peace and quiet in a rural setting, and all their BS laws are following them..No noise after 9pm,,no more than X decibels for X minutes, cant run a body shop or mechanical shop because you will upset the neighbors...BLAH BLAH BLAH...
Thebest one I heard was in Whiplashes neck of the woods, and it involved a recent ex city dweller, who didnt like the smell of the farmers cows,so they opened the gate and shooed them into the next paddock, before their flash friends turned up for barbecue and drinks....
