    Wowzer Zowzer - 135HP on a 15.5 tri-hull! That's pretty incredible. Typically those transoms were rated at about 50-75HP max. I bet it was a screamer. You're lucky that then engine didn't rip the aft half of the boat off!

    Yes, as I recall Johnson brought out the 135hp outboard in 1973 and it was the biggest until about 1977 when they went to 140hp. I have no idea about the transom rating, but the little boat did fly - PowerCat Tri-Hull rings a bell.
