Well, the good news is his move isn't all trauma, and the time off is doing him some good. I got a message with a picture of him enjoying the beach. Not so sure he should be in a speedo though........

It's much easier to promise someone a "free" ride on the wagon than to urge them to pull it.

Glad to see your smiling face again, Richard.

Since you're once again in a position to provide advice and counsel for those of us who are less informed (or ignorant, or might have been declared legally stupid, or senile) there are several things that I have been wanting to ask you .. or tell you ....... or get your opinion on.

BUT, I'LL BE DIPPED IF I CAN REMEMBER WHAT THEY WERE!

    Welcome back, friend!

Interesting how the seasons in our lives affect a lot of what we do. 2009 was a disastrous year for me from a business standpoint, but it gave me a lot more time to spend on some other things (things that don’t cost a lot of money but the blessings are beyond compare – like spending time with the grand kids!) and for that I was grateful.

I think that several on this forum had a “bit more time” on their hands (for whatever reason) and as such, there was a lot of bantering back and forth. Not that bantering is bad, it a part of hot roddin’ and most of us have paid our dues at “Shady Oaks Garage” so we feel that we’re experts (in at least some area relating to cars) and we freely share our ideas. Sometime we share with passion and sometimes, well, things get a bit heated – I’m guilty here as well.

The difficult thing with an online venue is that we don’t actually “see” those to whom we are speaking and it’s easy to mis-interpret something or to take offense. If it would drop there, all would be good – but from time to time, we’ve gotten a bit out of control and personalized to the point of character assignation and just plain bad manners.

If I have ever insulted any of you, I am truly sorry and please know I highly value the opinions of several on this forum (Don, Uncle Bob, Dave Severson and Evolvo, and Tech among them) and certainly respect everyone’s right to express their ideas. Bear in mind that my passion – from time to time – may sound harsh and come off as arrogant, but that is not my intent. There are several others on this forum who share like passion and come across as strong too – but let’s all be big boys (and girls too!) and continue to share in this great sport we all love!

I have missed Tech and welcome him back in whatever capacity he chooses to participate. He’s a wellspring of knowledge and I always look forward to his very detailed and yes “technical” explanations.

    Regards All,
    Glenn Sexton
