Yeah, I know that's how the IT guys used to do it when I was working, but that was an internal network and safe. Not sure that I want to put my personal information out on the WWW for some of those slugs that troll for that kind stuff - it's never gone when you do that.

yes, you cand do it like you said. another option is to get a bootable copy over program. install the new HD, transfer files, and put your new HD on the master or SATA 1 if that's what it is and just remove the old 1.. I'm pretty sure Western Digital data lifegaurd tools will do the transfers and is bootable
