Just wanted opions on what ford pickup you think is the best looking. The 40-41 or 53-58. I have to go with the 40-41. The styling along with that great grill gave it a super look that can't be found with the 53-56. JMOP:)

there is something running around in hazel green that is cool as heck but i have`nt got a shot of it yet and i dont know what it is .. its` old school rat rod style .. i`ll get a shot one day .. i`ts something from the late 40 `s i think .. the cab is way wider at the top than it is at the bottom and the fenders are way low .. looks like something mr McGoo would drive .
This is a bad to the bone pick up ...39 GMC

i think thats what i`m seeing ..
although i drive a 56, i've always had a soft spot for the most ugly truck chevy ever made...the 1961 apache...

I love 64 F100's
I've always liked the 40-41 ford, or a 36 chev.
Alot of different opions. I guess I just like trucks period but since Iowned a 41 ford pickup when I was a teenager, it still right up there with my favorite:)
MINE, of course!! ;) I used to work with a guy who had a b-u-teeful '56 Effie, and to him it was the only good looking truck in the world; he wouldn't even park it near anyone else's truck, no matter how nice they looked; must have been afraid the "ugly" would get on his. :0
I like the 1940's GMC myself. A photo gallery of old GMC's

I would have to go with the 40 Ford, I had one in the early 70's I had two grills I could change but I like the standard grill better then the deluxe.
Richard
i'd go with the 1956 a good looking truck but i prefere the studebaker champ 1963
How about the Jeep J10 or International Harvester?

This is a tough post. I like lots of different rucks, new and old! It's sort of like asking what's your favorite food, depends on the moment!:):D

I must agree wholeheartedly. Just about anything from a mini to a heavy hauler; when they are done right, they are something to see. ;)
Come on guys, Chevy 55 2nd series to 57 trucks are mine...
Does anyone else agreeeeee?
I like the 35-40 Chevy the best with my favorite the 40 Chevy when done cleanly. 40-41 Ford, 55-57 Chevy, F1's from 48-52 and F100's 53-56 and from 62-66
Some of the old Studes are cool and also like the late 30's and 40's Dodges and Plymouths. Hell. I just like old trucks.
With a few mild mods, most any of them can be made to look quite nice.... Personally, I like the bumpside years for Fords, nothing from the 40's and 50's, and the mid to late 30's Mopars....
I would have to agree with tmeyer I like the 55-57 Chevy.
I'd go with ....... '40 ford first... '32-4 ford next ... then '55-7 chev. & last but not least a 72 chev. I might also throw in a late ford lightning.

SBC powered 54 IH
Wow I must of been dead for awhile! Where were these trucks released! Never saw one before. The Ford Lightning is very cool. Read the wikipedia blurb about them! For the rest of you like me here is a shot of one. What nice lines, smooth curves, aerodynamics, you can just feel the checkered flag!

Nice lookin' "Binder", 42K3. Is that '55 Chevy next to it a Napco?
To answer your question ....'40-41 "hands down"! The '53-'56 body is good looking, but looked a little too "heavy".
I'll add that I think there are even better looking trucks, but that is not what you asked.
Oh! There IS a truck in that photo! Must have missed it the first time I looked. :D
Too tough to pick THE best looking, so here's pics from three different eras.............with some bias:D
That gold one is gorgeous Bob! Never cared for the next one , I think it's something about the grill. But hey that's why there are different car brands, we each like different stuff!
Yeah, Dave Lane built the '40.....he's a superb craftsman and a detail wizard! http://www.fastlanerodshop.com/40Ford.htm
I bought a '72 Chev new, have always had a soft spot for them. This red one was my beater truck from the late '80s to mid '90s. This is it before repaint hauling a '32 frame, and the 3 window body.
IH 1200c, 1968.
Here is mine...... I also like all trucks but I have built 5 47-53 Chevy's

Nice paint work. The highlights make it pop as though it was a separate machined cut metal top. Did you design that yourself?
