What planes are these?
We must have a fire nearbye because two coast guard planes and a chopper with a water tank are buzzing over right now! Interesting planes, mind you this is taken with just a 80 mm lens.

The third picture looks like a P38 Lightning made by Lockeed.1951 Chevy 3600 Long Box

Could the big one be a C-130?
I haven't a clew what the double tail one is. Doesn't come up under coast guard craft." "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.

The first two are A or B26's I would bet:

Thinking hard about the other one, hmmmmm.

The first one has that generic twin turbo look, could be one of several, not enough detail to be sure. Somewhat similar to a DHC-8, but the tail isn't right somehow.
The second is a North American OV-10 Bronco. They were built for the U.S.Marines as a COIN fighter. Not firefighting planes, but could be USDA grass hunters!

Bingo for Rpope on the second. I've never seen one before:

That took some searching.

I guess the first two could be Trackers...Last edited by sgo70; 06-12-2009 at 08:19 PM.

Not Trackers, they're shorter and have radial engines. These are modern turboprops, just not enough detail for better ID.

Thanks guys. R Pope and Sean nailed it. Makes sense too. I was thinking coast guard because of the colors and the local base, but CDF it is! Thanks for the link Sean. All three were in my back yard today." "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.

Thanks for posting the pics Steve. I love planes and haven't seen those before. Would be pretty cool to have them buzzing around here, just not on business of course.Bob
