My grandpa's cat died about a year after grandma did. I am surprised he survived the heart ache. I am so glad his last cat outlasted him.
Sorry for your loss, but I honestly believe the best advice would be for you to get another kitten..
Education is expensive. Keep that in mind, and you'll never be terribly upset when a project goes awry.
