I think my Ranger could tow 2,500# if it had a hitch. it says on the tag but I can't remember what it says exactly.. has factory trailer wiring ( ford stamp on the connector ) but it's never had a hitch on it, and the bumper cover is still un punched...
Explorer/ mountianeer 302/auto from a '98-2002 swap in the Rangers, but I'd have all kinds of issues.. PATS system, mines a manual trans and not an auto.. I thought about it, but it's just not worth it.. it is a nice truck, but.. even where I live RWD trucks usually don't cut it in the winter, so I'd have to get somthing for winter anyway.. so I'll be getting somthing that's also a 4x4
a 4.0L ranger with the tow package is rated for 6,000#.. if I got the explorer V8 and a 8.8" rear with 3.73's, it could do the 6,000# I'm sure, and be extremely quick too.. but, I'd rather have a '89-'96 F-150 or F-250.Last edited by Matt167; 05-18-2009 at 11:44 AM.
