Actually in your case (being in a state that feels they know what is best for the rest of the country and expects everyone to conform to their rules/regulations/laws) this is a blessing in disguise for more reasons than I am willing to print on a public access form. I'll leave it at that for now and will only say, Da Bunnies(tm) will be watching
