OK, so perhaps it's not that rare but, I've never seen one before, so for me it's rare. I even got a ride. The thing is so quiet it feels like it's got an electric motor. Not much speed but fantastic mileage from a motor who's engine block isn't much bigger than the battery. I think it's suppose to be 44 cu with a power output of 26.5 hp.
Don picked it up in pretty horrible condition and did a frame off. It sure attracts attention at the shows.

 I like it!

Looks like it might be the cast engine rather than the brazed sheet metal one.Last edited by Bob Parmenter; 04-17-2009 at 08:36 PM. Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon

It's much easier to promise someone a "free" ride on the wagon than to urge them to pull it.

You don't see or hear much about Crosleys any more. 34 years ago...before we moved from central Illinois.....I knew where there were three of them! Don't ask! ....they surely aren't there any more!

When I was a kid I actually owned two of them, a station wagon and a sedan as I remember. They also made the pickup you show and a sportscar, the HotShot. I always wanted one of those.

I remember one of the Crosleys I owned had that brazed engine and someone had tried to repair the block using black stuff that I think was Black Magic body filler (remember THAT STUFF ) I was about 12 or 13 and neither one ran, but I sat inside and would slide the windows open and sit in there for hours, dreaming of the day I would have them running. Never did, and I think the junk man took them away when my Mom figured out we had reached our car quota in the yard. ) I was about 12 or 13 and neither one ran, but I sat inside and would slide the windows open and sit in there for hours, dreaming of the day I would have them running. These were the creation of the same Crosley guy who made radios. Funny part was, I don't think either of my Crosleys HAD A RADIO.

The pickup you show is really really nice. Good job he did on the resto.

I found the Club website in case anyone is interested.

Nice resto job. I've seen only a few of those, though one does live around here. " "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve. "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.

Late 1960s Lake Hill Speedway in Valley Park,Mo. where Rusty Wallace & Kenny Shrader got their start there usta be a crosley tow truck.Cute little thing, guess it was left over from the dirt & midget era, tack was paved in 1967 and closed in 1980. Anyway the story is that Joey Chitwood and the tournament of thrill show wanted it for their clown car and left with it. Sure would like to find that one.
 Very kewl little truck,Dogtag.............
