I've just gotta wonder about the timing of the release.....Could there possibly be a worse time in our economic history to release a new toy for sale to the public when no one really has any idea what the heck is going to happen next???? For GM's sake, I hope it sells out the first day of release, but I doubt it. Granted, it's just a small niche market for those interested in a new Camaro.....question is, is there any money for new toys in that small niche???? Or is it gonna be just one more nail in GM's coffin????

Good question Dave. If it comes out soon, then it'll be in production, so we can buy them which is a good thing. But if people go "look at GM producing Muscle cars again, didn't they learn anything", then it becomes a slippery slope!
But..... this baby is suppose to get 27 on the freeway with something like 300hp and a fine tuned suspension! Very tempting(my commuters on get 20 and 22, but are gutless in the power department!

Steve, if that price is close it’s not bad. In 93 the Camaro had a new body style come out I just had to have one. Most dealers were getting over sticker price I got mine for sticker and really was happy with it.

The 96 SS Impala was the last new car I could afford it was $26,000. I would think for mid 20’s it would sale ok. If I could afford it I would buy it for that price.

The Vetts are what $50,000?

I agree, the retro thing had topped out when they started trotting out pictues of it.

The convertable version looks nice too. And yes it still has the back seat!The hard top is pretty slick too.

There was an artist's concept floating around the internet a few years ago which I like a little better than the new Camaro.

Now see, the artist's concept pictures look more like Camaro lineage that the real ones that to me the grill resembles a Challenger more than a Camero... Although the blue one is tugging at me... very similar in color to my old 67 Firebird.

the "base" v6 starts at $23k. it comes with a lot standard and when Ford comes out with thier '10 Mustang prices will be a little more in line, but from the beginning before prices came out GM has said think Mustang prices "with a premium"...

the v8 starts at $31k (keep in mind this is no manual windows/doors and hubcap wheel car) and if you want leather and a few other goodies (mostly technical...bluetooth, etc) its just over $34k. it can go up from there.

it is not a great time with the economy to be building a car like this, but 3 years ago when it was approved things were different. there are something like 10,000 pre ordered...a lot of those v8's. we'll see if those are just all the die hards and it will flop after that or if it will do well. i hope for the car, GM and the country it does well. it needs to sell about 100,000 to be profitable. i think it will do well enough for the times.

I'm definitely no chebbie fan, but for the sake of the economy I hope you're doubly right!!!! I hope they sell out on the new 'maro's in 2 months!!!!! Sure would get people moving in a positive direction and probably save some dealerships and a bunch of jobs along the way!!!!

Now, if we could just get all three, Challenger, Mustang, and the Camaro going in a new Trans Am series!!! When it was the HOT series, you had a heck of a time buying any of the 3 cars cuz everybody had a bit of Trans Am racer in them!!!! Not saying it would be a possibility, but wouldn't it be a hoot if Hot Rodders and Racers were the ones to kick start the economy??????? Hmmmmmmm.............

Yeah I agree the grill looks alot better in that one. It actually looks really good with dark tinted windows too! At 23k with 300hp the v6 is just fine for me, beats all the horsies combined in all of the other vehicles we have combined(except the hot rod!) and to still get 27mpg pretty dang good.

I think the new Camaro and the new Challenger both look rather bloated.:LOL:

But then I have always been a Barracuda fanatic. I saw a 67 Camaro convertible when it was brand spanking new in a showroom and loved it, but the one I always loved the most was a white 69 SS convertible with the indy pace car package (orange stripes, orange and black houndstooth interior, 350 4 spd). :cool::cool:

Now if they had reproduced that, my ass would be camped at the dealer just like the black friday shopping idiots.:eek: :LOL::LOL:
