    Years ago we had a Doberman who "adopted" one kitten out of a litter we had.........just that one kitten. When the dog would hear the kitten yelp she would run over and get all concerned. She would also let that kitten sit on her head and chew on her ears. Don't have any idea why she singled out just that one kitten, but she did.
