I remember well the "learn-ed thump". My Dad as we boys got older would use it on us if we were getting out of line. He always wore this big 'ol U.S.Navy ship ring---I think I still have bumps on my head from that thing

Funny, I just had a vision of the Jack Elam character in Cannonball Run. He held up a huge middle finger and said "seldom need more than this". That was for a different reason but same tool.lol
