Gas prices drop

I think i read a couple of weeks ago that the oil companies are worried cause the demand has not been too great lately. I guess without china using much oil anymore it kinda threw a wrench in the works somewhere.

Im not really sure us using less oil will really have an impact, i think the traders will just get the lost revenue from raising the prices even more. Im starting to think that no matter who uses what amount somebody is still gonna get their money in the end.
But what do i know? If i knew how it worked i would be in the middle making all the money.

Well demand must be up this weekend. Going to work Friday afternoon, there was a solid string of San Franciscans fleeing the city, taking the usual traffic jams associated with their commute with them to wherever they are escaping! I hate going anywhere on a Holiday weekend because everyone else is out there on the road with you! :CRY:
I'm just glad gas is under the 4.50 mark it hit here!
Anyways I reposted this thread because it is a sort of historical marker for what we are paying for gas at any given time. I remember as a kid going to the gas station and my folks paying .34 cents a gallon, then going to McDonalds and getting lunch for everyone for a buck!
As a teenager, It used to take about 3-4 bucks to fill my motorcycle up! At the price peak last year it was almost 70 bucks to fill the car, and 20 to fill the Harley!:eek::eek:
So anyway would love to see what price ranges are going for across the country.

Funny you should say that. Looks like Cuba has oil. Methinks all they need to do is sign an oil contract, and the embargo will be over.

Rising and falling oil prices are business, pure and simple.... Some of the major oil company owners, members of the board of directors, and CEO's have more power and authority to institute change then any politician has ever dreamed of having!!!!! I don't know of any other business that could operate successfully on as slim of a margin (usually about 7%) as the oil companies. Huge profits are a result of a huge volume, plain and simple economics.... The huge volume is created by the consumer....
