I took these of a local guys car, It is supposedly an actual production car from early 1900's. Can you name the maker and or model?

and oh ya he now has a matching guitar also.

Oh yeah, I'm very familiar with that one. It is based on a 1917 Mantis "Grasshoppermobile", built by the creator, Iris Q. Mantis. He was a little ahead of his time, and some say a little quirky. His mind would never stop working, and he would wake up in the middle of the night and write down his ideas.

Unfortunately, the public never really "got" most of his creations because we seldom recognize true genius when we see it. Iris became despondent over this rejection by the society he tried to help with his visions, and eventually moved to Montana and took up locust breeding.

Here are some of his other inventions. Sorry that none of them made it to production. The world would have been a lot better off if we had stuff like his combination horsebackrider/roller skater, or his pet snake walking leash. And who among us hasn't thought how cool a motorized picnic table or a bumper for our favorite pet would be?? I know I would love some of these myself.

It just goes to show, you can never read too much. Is it the same exact car in the magazine 32piro ?

If some one butchered a real 1903 Olds, they should be drawn and quartered.

Now if it is made from a glass clone of a 1903 then that's okay.

In any case that thing appears to be unsafe at any speed.

    Mooneye777,

Would you mind if I borrowed these pictures and used them on another site I belong to? I will wait for your answer before I take them.

    Thanks,

She looks a little bit young to be an early 1900's model, but maybe she just aged well. Huh?? Oh, you mean the car!!!

We actually had a replica of the 1903 Olds as a kid. My Dad did some work for a guy, and got it in trade. It was a blast to drive around his place. Unfortunately he left it outdoors and the plywork eventually rotted out( I must have been like 7 years old!) Dad never was very responsible with his cars!
