I'll see your jar of nuts and raise you a .380 which I don't even take out the trash unless it's in my pocket. but that is obviously another conversation.

I was pretty disturbed about the recycle issue until I read in the article where it stated that they were ( new ) condoms rejects, not ( used ) contaminated condoms. Then it became simply a matter of social taboo, not health concern. I'll save my indignant outrage for deadly dog food and lead laced toys.

The Chinese certainly have different values and production standards. It's becoming increasingly clear that we would be better off manufacturing our own stuff. Hell, even the emergency brake cable for my 64 C 10 was made in China... that just sucks.

We're heading for a BIG meltdown. Although I could add a shotgun to my weapons collection, I am fairly well prepared. Some more ammo would be nice though, gonna make sure the shelves are stocked.

have your nuts and bolts ready.

Education is expensive. Keep that in mind, and you'll never be terribly upset when a project goes awry.

Meltdown seems imminent, a consumer nation that doesn't produce anymore is a dangerous situation.

Steve I wish it were so simple! I agree with you 100%, and yet when I'm operating on a tight budget, places like harbor freight are all I can afford for stuff I'll only use a few times like a cherry picker or a paint sprayer.
The name brands I use to buy that are USA brands(Delta, 3M, Black and Decker, Craftsman, Milwakee), are now making all their stuff in China too. I'm sure all of us have some aftermarket parts that are only made there. Most of the new sheet metal replacements are coming from overseas.
Like it or not, unless we put up a trade imbargo, Made in Taiwan will be with us for a long time coming. Places like Walmart exist because of China. It's the only way they can provide goods at such cheap prices.
Label shopping and paying more doesn't work when people barely can afford to pay their mortgages or put food on their tables. I wish we could bring all those production jobs back to the US. And if we did bring those jobs back, a lot of people here would rather pull welfare checks than get off their rearends and work!
