Those not familiar with the topography up this way may not realize that the north/south line those little boxes on the map follows it pretty much along the base of the Cascade Mountain Range, Rainier being just one peak of many. We were taught as youngin's that it was earthquake activity and tectonic plate shift that formed these mountains. Just another observation, lots of little quakes as dogtags map indicates is probably a good thing. It would indicate that the faults are relieving pressure gradually rather than holding tough to give it a BIG shake...............well, that's what we hope anyway!!

It's much easier to promise someone a "free" ride on the wagon than to urge them to pull it.
