However, even early VW sedans are getting rare and try to find a Vega, so twenty years is a long time unless the anticorrosion coating is good? Note that this also implies Indian and Chinese folks will soon be having automobiles for the first time. That means more world wide fuel demand!

My cousin just bought a smart car for his retirement vehicle. He's pretty environmentally aware, when I asked about the gas milage in the Smart car, he said, think outside of the box. This car can fit in a car space on the side of the street, parked sideways. He maintains it not just gas, but space! Interesting! I'd fear for my life driving one down the 101 to work. People are into their big cars and trucks/SUV's here, so I'm waiting for a commuter that incorperates a little protection from the avaerage, "I'm on the cell phone and didn't see him" mentality. But with gas at 4.50 a gallon going upward, we soon will need to get a different vehicle to do our commutes(50 miles a day). Thanks for the thread, these alternatives give me hope!
P.S. I'll still keep the 48 F1 with the 429! Gotta stretch the legs every once in a while!:D
