    Mustang information wanted

I want to buy a 65-66 Mustang fastback. Ebay and Craigslist are the only two places I've tried. I'm looking for places to find one and also any tips regarding what to look for or look out for.

Main Index - Vintage Mustang Forums VMF is a pretty good site. Very good forums. Also has a classifieds section. You might find a better deal thru someone there.

First do you want a finished car or a project . If you go finished ask for pics of build to see what has been done . When you see a little plastic cover over cowl vent its a leaker.

If your looking for a project car try to find one where someone has lost interest but the car has been in inside storage not beside the garage . Be cautious of some cars that are in primer if the pics are at the right angle you can see there is just a cover up.

Project cars watch for upper cowl rust this is a very large job to replace them . Floor board rust is real common in the front on stangs allways ask for pics of undercarraige if your looking on line . They rust in frame rail where bumper brackets mount . Trunk floor drop offs are another area .

So many where stored outside on mother earth and most the bottom sheet metal has returned to her .

I'm getting ready to get rid of a 67 Cpe it will be offered on ebay in primer but i have pics of build . This will enforce a restore and not a dump of a car needing lots of metal work .
