I would guess the old list includes some selections from the Beach Boys, but I am not tired of them yet so keep "I get Around" and "Daddy took her T-bird Away". Also "Take it to the Limit" by the Eagles is really good. To honor the California roots of rodding I still like "Hotel California" (Eagles) and "California Dreaming" (Mamas and Pappas). Hey, let's not throw out all the good old stuff! If you want modern, the one disk I play over and over in my Sunfire is the Ace of Base "Its a Beautiful Life" and "I'll never say I'm sorry". The Ace of Base stuff is now considered "old" by college Freshman, but it gets your blood flowing and was favorite music at RAVES a few years ago.
