Bobby, sorry to hear of your loss. It is always devastating even when you know it's coming. We lost our little Lhasa Apso (Dazzle) last July. She went from normal to very ill in just 3 days. After 24 hours in the hospital, the vet told us she would never recover and recommended putting her down. We had Dazzle cremated and got her ashes. She nows watches over us from the fireplace mantel. My wife said she didn't want to go through that again so we didn't look for a new one. But the sadness didn't go away, so last November we got another little Lhasa. Dazzle was a delight, but the new one (Snickers) is hell on 4 little feet. (She herds the cats too, but she also nips them).

As we age it seems each one gets a little harder to part with especially when they have been a big part of your everyday life. We still miss Dazzle and sometimes catch ourselves calling the new one by that name. She just looks at us like we've lost it.
