Having trouble logging on to CHR-THREADS MERGED

I tried several times today to come to this site, I hit the address in my favorites as always. But it kept sending me to another www.clubhotrod.com.
(exact same address) This site was a link site for purchase of cars. Has anyone else had this happen in recent days?

Yes---it happened to me also. It said that the registration had expired on that domain name (clubhotrod.com) and that I could buy that domain name and use it for a website of my own if I wanted to!!!

Either someone forgot to pay the bills or there was a hiccup in the domain server.

So, it wasn't just me .....Either DNS issues or hijack attempt. For a while I thought I might need to reconfigure my DNS server.....

I mentioned earlier that I couldn't log on for most of the morning because I kept getting redirected to a site that looks like it sells domain names. I even went in through the back door and googled CHR and even doing it that way I got the same thing.

Another member just PM'd me on another forum and posted this:


Nope, I still get the same deal. Looks like the domain name doesn't even go anywere but to a page that sells domain names. I hope Brent hasn't decided to pack it in with CHR. If you hear anything about it, let me know.


So, if two of us are having the same exact problem there must be others, and it can't be the same glitch in his computer and mine too. Anybody else????

I finaly got on and tried to post earlier, then when I hit enter I got redirected to that site again. Been happening all day.

....yes, I also got directed to that site all day yesterday! It looked as if the fee's for the domain name weren't paid on time .... It mentioned something about even when the fee's were paid there could be a gap between paying & being able to log on..... Bill

I had the same problem yesterday. I finally got on about 8:00 PM last evening. Everything seemed normal by then and I was able to post some new pics to my build thread...

I've come to expect that at least once or twice a week this site goes kafooey - and this is even since Brent built new servers.

Oh well - if I need my 'fix' there are a couple of others I can make an a$$ of myself on until this one comes back up

I couldn't get in until just before 1:00 p.m. yesterday. I did the same as others, did a search for CHR and it still took me to domain name site. I thought maybe the site was closing. I just posted earlier that this is the best site on the net. I'm
hoping it does not shut down.

Well, it sure looks like the problem is pretty widespread. I hope the following comments don't come across as ungrateful, but I think it is important to say.

For some reason this site goes down way too often. Sometimes it is just a momentary thing........you try to log on and get a one-liner that says the site isn't available, but a little while later it comes up. And sometimes it goes down for a day or so. The "new server" or whatever it was that came from overseas (or wherever) was supposed to clear up the issues, but sometimes it seems worse now. I sort of hold my breath anytime I log on now, wondering if the familiar CHR logo will come up or if I will get some other screen, or a time-out notice.

My fear is that we are losing and going to lose members who become frustrated and who stop coming on. I get PM's from members pretty often, on here and on other sites, who are saying "what's up with CHR, I can't log on?" Some have indicated they have had it, and I see less participation or no participation from some of those members lately.

I think I speak for most of the membership when I say I love this forum. It is the first thing I check in the morning and the last thing I check before going to bed at night. But I have to say I rarely see any of the computer glitches on any of the other 4 or 5 forums I frequent that I see on here. Size doesn't seem to be an issue, some of them are very large and some are very small.
