I have to figure out the wiring through the Ididit column and the weather is nice so today I will mess with pulling the top plate in the column and adding the dress up kit for the turn signal lever while I wait for some light machining on the double-D shaft fittings. I found that I could not penetrate 5/16" bolts (either grade 8 or grade 5) for castle nut cotter pins but that I could buy repro 5/16" bolts that were meant to hold the large bell housing on the stock Model A to the stock A block as the right length and size WITH drill holes for a cotter pin from Brattons Antiques Auto parts. So I am having the universals drilled across to accept the 5/16" bolts through the D-shaft and cotter-pinned on the other side. Just keep busy, the opiate of the masses (or was that religion?), while the politicians make speeches to make themselves look good!
