Taxes???? no taxes!!!! Heck, they got all the transportation charges to truck it from Pasedena to the Woodlands!!!!! Heck, that must be what, 60 miles?????? The whole energy thing is just one big rip off!!!!!

Won't be long until Bush takes back control of all the oil securities he now has in trust.I would expect gas will go down after that happens.

Did you know that there are over 40 derivities from crude oil;so we are not only paying high gas prices ,but all the other things that are made from these derivities.

In this Austin (Austin MN) regular is 3.15, the same all over town.

You guys are getting off cheap! Its 3.81 for regular around the corner from where I work, and 3.69 off the highway near my house.
Also have any of you noticed the gas milage drop recently. Mine went from23.-24 to 21 over the last several months. I think whatever they are blending it is giving me worse gas milage at a higher price.

I dont quite understand how they justify rapeing us like this! The bad part is that when the prices drop they usually are still higher than when they started! Crap I say Crap!!!

I have heard of it before and I believe it's possible to get better gas mileage using the more expensive (higher octane) gas. I think the cheapy unleaded regular causes the ECU to richen the fuel slighlty due to feadback within the EFI system (knock sensors, O2, etc.). Actual results may vary.

I wont use the more expensive gas at 30 to 40 cents more for 2 octane points(up to 89) or 50-70 cents more for the 93 for an experiment. My truck was built for the 87 gasoline which means the ECU is programmed for that stuff. I'll get a reflash of the ECU in a couple of months for any updates. On my Ford truck forums there have been threads on lower gas mileage with the 90/10 gas to ethanol blends but I haven't found an reputable on-line article about this yet. It does make sense that there will be a difference in combustion flame propagation in the engine. This propagation has to be modified by this amount of a volitile additive, 10%. I just am not sure which way. Unfortunately I just don't have enough information one way or the other to understand this.

My gas guage don't work, and I ain't going to fix it. I don't want to know how much is there, or not. At 6 - 8 mpg, I check the mileage and add some as necessary. Don't want to be reminded of the cost.

Both of mine require premium, I think I'm going to be sick or extremely poor by next winter.

Dont want to sound bleek but in Ontario Canada the oil companies are charging $1.09 per liter.That is $4.12 a US gal. Now here there are taxes included in the liter price. For instance a gas slip I have in front of me right now $5.31 taxes for a total of $20.03, talk about gouging!!! Yes there is whinning but people have to buy it. Worst Diesel is $1.15 per liter thats $4.35 a US gal. for a product that is closer to crude. What I understand we are just being taken advantage of and the goverment is going along collecting taxes.Just an opinion.

Looks very similar to my 03 Hemi 2500's gauge. $3.16 in CDA today for regular / 87.It ain't gonna' stop me from drivin tho. I'll just bitch and pay it.

funny in the last few weeks since the summer blend hit the pumps my gas mileage went up in my little gas guzzler 40mpg sentra

Yup, can hardly wait till Memorial Day weekend when fuel takes it's usual summer jump!!!!!!! Think we'll be seeing $4.00/gallon everywhere then?????????

I'm not sure if it's the gas or the computer/engine that is dumping my milage. I'm coming up on the 90k service, so I think I'll have them run some diagnostics. About 6 months ago, they did a factory recall on the computer board. When they put the new one in the milage dropped as did the performance. I took it back, they checked it out, but said everything was ok. Milage went up on my vacation road trip, but not as good as in the past. So it could be anything including old age. The tires are fairly new Michelans so I don't think they are the cause(1 year old now).

could be the gas station you're filling up at has contaminated tanks.... i've had that happen and seen what its done to customers cars.... lots of valve train failure issues...... i would try filling up at a different station and see if your mileage goes up.... you could always try resetting your fuel trim if it is the computer.... disconnect your battery for a few minutes and recconect it.... if you had a nice scanner your could watch the numbers as your fuel trim recalculates.... age doesn't neccisarily have anything to do with it though... my 89 nissan has 160k miles on it and still runs strong.... just about needs a new clutch now but thats fine since its the original...
