A guy is coming from Chicago to pick up a set of $80 wheels; he is driving 2 ½ to 3 hours he should be here between 10:30p.m. - 11:00p.m. our time 12:00 p.m. Chicago time. Can you image driving that far for a set of Cavalier wheels. Oh well I pulled guard duty in the Army I guess I’ll practice my {Barney fiife} probably spelled wrong, One bullet in the shirt pocket. :LOL: :LOL:
I put them on a list I won't say which because it may be wrong I'm not promoting it.

I drove from St Paul. MN to Canton, OH to get a model of a B-25, I picked up a dash for my Mustang in Indianapolis, ID. I drove to Kingman, AZ to pick up my wife twice, and twice to Maryville, TN to get her.
I quess picking the wife up, doesn't count. :D
BEFORE they raised the gas price, we would drive anywhere to get just about anything! :LOL: :LOL: :confused: :HMMM:

We are pretty much the same, my wife hates to take me shopping I usually find something to drag home. One time I went with her to get our daughter a lens for her camera, we came home the owners of a 50 ford chopped top. I traded her wedding dress for a 60 Chevy.:toocool:Quote:

You can basically tell if someone is safe or not. My Son hates it when anyone comes to the shop because he doesn't want people to know what all we have in there, so whenever I sell something on Ebay that has to be picked up he freaks.
I just sold my old arc welder and a guy came to pick it up and you could see he was just an average guy so I gave him the cooks tour, just like you did.
Plus we work with the shop garage door wide open, so it isn't like people who drive by can't see inside. :confused:

It was so shocking to move to a small place after leaving the high crime area near Chicago and have something like this happen close by. The young couple took in just about every stray cat that came a long; they had some dogs they cared for also. It is a crazy world; good thing the guy that did the killing didn't get 10 miles away before he was caught. Even the country is not like it used to be with all of the drug dealing going on today, you just have to be alert.

in this day and age it doesnt hurt to be careful , but i would do the same as yall if the person seemed sane!..
I drove from Kentucky to Colorado to buy a set of Halibrands. Met the guy at 5:30 in the morning in a Walmart parking lot (before he went to work).
....and yes the drive was worth it. I got a killer deal on the wheels and didn't trust the guy to carefully pack "those old mag wheels".

i went from tupelo ms to chicago for the fenders for my 37 not sure about the miles both ways , flippers got me beat , but what was gonna be a simple pick up and go turned into something else as i took the wife ArrrrrrrrrGh!
and that alone was another grand or so!!!

Even at 61, I still love to drive. Don't hate flying, but do prefer driving. We travel to Florida from PA 2 or 3 times a year. Have only flown once in the past 15 years. I have a business meeting in Seattle this summer, even with the gas prices, the wife and I are thinking about driving our Mountaineer out for the meeting and then spending a couple of weeks sightseeing before heading home. Can't beat driving to truly experience this beautiful country of ours.:D :D :toocool:Quote:
