That steering had to be something to engineer to work right. There is no usual tie rod as each wheel is independently steered from the bellcrank Bob mentioned.

The car isn't something I would want to own either, but I bet viewed up close the workmanship is what we have come to expect from Chip. I not only like his work, but by all accounts he is just one helluva guy. A friend of mine went to a local Ford dealership where Chip was making an appearance, and he stood in line for 4 hours to get to shake his hand. He said Chip never turned one person away and took as much time with each one as they wanted. He left with a very deep respect for the man.

So many people attain that level of celebrity and start acting like they can't be bothered with people who want to say hi. Nice to see one who hasn't forgotten how to be kind and considerate to other people. There aren't a lot of celebrity types I would want to meet, but he is one I would love to just sit and have a beer with.

Anybody who likes old planes can't be bad. I still think the Corsair is one of the most beautifull planes ever made. I'd like to see more photos of the car. He dared to do something unique. It may look wierd to some, and great to others. I like it. And Denny the props do really add to it!

I remember reading the article when he was building that steering. It looks like it would be a constant battle to maintain alignment on that frontend, but only time and road miles will tell. Regardless, it's really cool looking and Chip was really "thinking outside the box" on that one.

I, too, have heard that he is an all-around nice person who is pretty much unaffected by his fame. I would love to meet him and spend a few hours picking his brain.
