Thank you. Really makes you think.
It's too late. This country is on a slippery slope downhill from which there is no recovery. Those who can vote in this country have discovered they can vote themselves the keys to the treasury via electing socialists. It's only a matter of time until we experience the straw that broke the camel's back, the point where there are more taking from the trough than there are filling the trough and then we're done. I predict a revolution after the collapse of government. Invest your money in powder and lead and put aside some gold and silver in small denomination coins. You'll need it to buy food, because paper money will be worthless. Yeah, like it's worth much right now!!!!
While I'm fired up, I'll continue. Nobody owns property in this country. If you think you own your home, just stop paying taxes on it and you'll find out who owns it. A friend of mine has a 3 acre parcel in Maricopa County. He must pay the county $850 each month if he plans to continue to "own" the property. The money is re-distributed to those who suck off the public trough.
Get a job?? There are few good paying jobs left in this country. Our leaders have allowed technology to be scarfed up by other countries. Even the few manufacturing firms that are left are being taxed at a rate that precludes their products from being competitive in a world market. Manufacturing is where true wealth is created. You don't create wealth by flipping hamburgers. Right after WWII, America was the strongest country on the planet. Dad worked a decent paying job and mom stayed home to raise the kids. If they misbehaved, dad took a belt to their bottom and they straightened up. Now, there are few jobs that dad can work that will pay all the bills, so mom has to work too. Or dad was just a sperm donor who lives somewhere else and couldn't care less. Even if there is a dad at home, he can't spank the kids anymore because if he does, Social Services will be at the door trying to take the kids away. That leaves the kids to fend for themselves and be subject to the teachings and behavior of the lowest common denominator. Doing drugs, ditching school, etc.
And there are actually people who think government makes money!!!! NOW HEAR THIS, PEOPLE; GOVERNMENT MAKES NO MONEY. They get their money via taxing those who toil to make money. As I said above, when the number of toilees exceeds the number of toilers, we're done.
i was thinking that crap was on to be posted on here ? and yes we are going to hell deal with it any way you can and blame everyone but your self:whacked:
I'm normally a pretty "bottle half full" kind of person........I always look for the bright side of things. But I am frankly more concerned about our futures than I have ever been in my life. The economy is only a small part of it, but it affects us all. In the last year I don't think I have talked to one person who is better off today than they were two years ago. Every forum I go on I see guys posting that they are getting laid off or are considering moving because they can't make it where they are.
Sure, there are exceptions, but I am talking about the bulk of the people who live paycheck to paycheck. Home forclosures are at record highs, oil is now over $ 100 per barrel, and jobs are getting scarce.
I sure as h*** hope whoever moves into the Whitehouse has the ability to turn this thing around........I don't care what race or sex he or she might be, just so they know what they are doing. We need help out here, no doubt about it.
You know the old saying. "We are in a recession when YOU are out of work, and we are in a depression when I am out of work."
Don
sorry the last two guys in the white house did not do a damn thing about the price of fuel .so no one coming in will not. but they may say they will to get your vote??? no drilling in my back yard ! no new refineries in the usa so that is the price to pay and other will pay more for the fuel then the USA we still have a lot of coal i know they can refine it to fuel
That's the number one problem, thinking that government, be it the Pres, or Congress, or whoever/whatever, will solve anything. As Richard pointed out, all they can do is live off the teat of producing citizens. They only have the power to get in the way with onorous regulation, whether by good intention or not. No President ever created a good economy despite many trying to take credit for it, all they can do is either get in the way, or out of the way, and I don't here much from any of the current candidates that even remotely resembles getting OUT of the way.Quote:

Also, I am not an economist, but I do know that any time you buy more than you sell you are going to be in trouble. Right now America buys a lot more than we sell to others, which affects the value of our dollar and our ability to put people to work here.
We need to quit meddling in other peoples business and concentrate of the problems we have here at home. We think nothing of sending billions to other countries or dropping mega buck bombs on others, but millions of people at home here are without healthcare and too many children go to bed hungry at night. Call me an idealist, but it just doesn't add up to me.
Don
well it is like the guy at work moven like hell and not doing one damn thing and if he did any thing it not right :whacked: it seams that no one wants to do the things that are unpopular i see fuel and power any way sun gas coal wind and other we must be able to suport are selfs .and the milddle east can work it out on there own and we must have a force that can take care of the safty of the usa . let any one know if they screw with us we turn there country in a glass top glow in the dark parking lotQuote:

We're placing debts on our children and grandchildren that will become unbearable for them.
And I'm really, really tired of hearing people bash the "evil" corporations. Where the hell do you think jobs come from? Poor people don't hire employees. Companies hire employees. And they're doing their best right now to find employees who aren't riddled with drugs. And they're doing their best to produce a product or service that is competitive in a world market, all the while struggling with overtaxation and government rules and regulations.
There is only one cure for this drug problem and that is to pass legislation that allows a police officer to draw his service weapon and dispatch any individual on whom he finds illegal drugs. On the spot. Period. End of problem. Call for a meat wagon to haul 'em off to the dump. We simply cannot continue to spend the money to try to rehabilitate these vermin and spend money on the "war on drugs". It's ludicrous. Like Larry the Cable Guy says....."get 'er done".
If you want more of the same, just keep votin' for those socialist Democrats......
I just heard the statistics that one percent of Americans are in jail right now, think about that, one out of every one hundred people!!! That is staggering to think about, and I bet 99 percent of those are somehow drug related.
Now this is one area John Q Public has to take the blame for. People tend to obey only those laws that they consider important. "What harm can it do that I smoke a little harmless weed," they say. They don't realize that every person who does any form of drugs, either illegal or abused prescription, is contributing to the problem. If we were somehow able to erase all drug use a lot of our crime would disappear and we wouldn't have employees who have to be screened periodically to make sure they are clean. The drug problem costs this country a big chunk of change, and affects all of us in one way or another.
Don
Let's talk about the real leEches to the system that eat up sooooooo many of our tax dollars...This would be our "duly elected" (by about 35% of those eligible to vote) public officials.... Anybody on here that even thinks they have as good of medical insurance or retirement plan as our Senators and Representatives is just kidding themselves~!!!!! This latest travesty of justice they call a war will be costing us billions and billions of dollars for many years to come....and nobody seems to care!!!! The only way to kill this monster of bureacracy that we've had allowed to be created is to quit feeding it!!!! Don't blame the white house, nothing there but the head leech.
As in the early days of medicine when leeches were used as an attempt to cure illness and disease... When the donor runs out of blood and quits supplying blood to the leaches it dies, and eventually the leeches all die, too.....
I'm beginning to become an isolationist, and probably soon we'll all have to become survivalists.... Don't look to the government to solve the problems, they ARE THE PROBLEM........
So many fallacies, so little time.
Whether or not I agree with the current war, that power is vested to the President by our constitution. Stealing the profiits of private corporations is not. Neither is feeding "needy" children, or paying utility bills, or for that matter doctor bills. So if you think we're in touble now, maybe, just maybe it's because we've been sceding more and more of our personal responsibilities to the "government" for the past 75 years.
The notion that trade deficits by themselves is bad is another B.S. belief. We've had a trade deficit for most of the past 230 years, not just recently. The most recent time we didn't have a trade deficit? The Great Depression. Is that the model to aspire too?
Children hungry in this country? Gee, I guess the fact that 50%~ of scool children get "free" breakfast and lunch isn't enoughh? And how come the number one health concern for so called poor people is obesity? I must be stupid when I think that those things are the opposite of hunger.
Look, you guys are my friends so I don't want to wound you, but all I hear is how much our society has deteriorated in the last several decades. I don't disagree. But identifying the legitimate cause is the challenge. During that same time period have we had more or less power bestowed to the political class? Logic tells me the demonstrated outcome is the more we give them the further we decline. I just don't see how intelligent caring people can want more of the same decline. You know I love old sayings, the one that fits most here is "The road to hell is paved with good intentions".
Man that all hits heavy. We The People...............What are we going to do????????
:toocool:
Simple solution is the one that worked a couple hundred years ago.... Just quit paying taxes and take control of the country again..... Notice I said simple, not easy..... :LOL:Quote:

The only thing we can do LEGALLY is to vote the socialists out of office. The Democrats should change the name of their party to the American Socialist Party, because that's their agenda, SOCIALISM. And socialism hasn't worked anywhere it's been tried when there are more taking than there are giving.
I feel absolutely sick to my stomach over the choice of candidates we have in this coming general election. You haven't seen socialism until Hillary or Barack get into the White House. And I won't vote for McCain. He's soft on the illegal aliens and that's one issue that just fries me. You just watch, one way or another, all the illegals in this country are gonna be blessed with citizenship. Now, I'm like a lot of others, I don't mind people from other countries coming to America to better themselves. I wouldn't be here if my great, great grandfather hadn't come over here many years ago. But he didn't suck off the system, because in those days, there was no system to suck off of. You worked and made your own way or you died of hunger if there was no family to tend to you and give you a hand up. You learned to speak English, because this is an English-speaking country. You didn't attempt to sing the National Anthem in your native language because somebody would have beat hell out of you.
So, the only thing we can do is to VOTE until the system crashes. Then, like I said, you'd better have plenty of powder and lead.
Like Denny said earlier,I don't have much time left to get kicked around. What I am concerned and worried about are my childrens future (not good).I have worked and tried to better myself in order to provide food and shelter for my family. The American Way is no longer visible. All I see is the Leeches eating away at that American Dream. The people that are Leeching (as said earlier)are the ones voting in the socialist.I heard only 26% of Texas' registered voters voted in the 2008 primary. Our welfare in Texas is second to California. We will be a welfare state by 2025, based on the current welfare system. The prisions are full and they are talking of no prision term for some drug offenses.I don't think the leaders of this country really see the problems that are plaguing this country. The majority of the present generation want to start at the top,and not work their way up.
Jobs are leaving this country by the thousands.Companies can't hire enough talented people to fill their requirements. We import more goods than we export and most of the imported goods are junk. Our education system is falling behind other countries.China will have the USA under their grasp if things don't change soon.
Politicians are sitting on their fannies and letting this all happen. We need more than change in Washington,we need the people to send a message to the socialist (Vote Them Out).
Ok, so we can blame the politicians and everything is their fault....
NOW WHAT????????
Problem is everybody complains, then pretty much forgets about it and nothing gets done, nothing changes.... Looks like we're getting exactly what we deserve.....
Socialist?? I have to respectfully disagree. The right wing has been in control for over a decade now(congress, senate, presisdential office for almost 8 years). Oil was $32 a barrel in 2000 when the "oil men" took office, now it's $104- and climbing! Socilaist no, fascist- yes. Right wing, corporate leaning, worker crushing republicans- but they let you keep your guns so you THINK you have some power...Quote:

This is going to sound over the top to some of you, but that's just the way I operate.
In my opinion, you should not have the power to vote in this country unless you have something of value to lose, like property or a job. You also should not have the power to vote if you are not contributing to the tax base.
All voter registrations should be rescinded and we should start over. Ballots and voter information should be in ENGLISH and English only because this is an English speaking country. In order to register to vote, you should have to show up at the local IRS office and show them your social security card. They would check records for tax returns and fingerprint you. If it shows that you have contributed via your tax return for the previous year, your name, address, ss number and fingerprints would be forwarded to the FBI to be included in their database. If you have not contributed to the tax base, sorry pal, hit the street. Once you were cleared there and found to not be a felon or have outstanding warrants, the FBI would forward the information to your local county for inclusion into the elegible voter rolls. When you show up to vote, you must have your ss card with you....or no vote.
If you don't like my plan, formulate one of your own. If you like it, try to get it on the ballot like I plan to do.
And since the Democrats have controlled Congress for the last couple of years why haven't they stopped the spiraling oil prices?Quote:

Remember people, that in the early stages of this country only white land and business owners were allowed to vote.Quote:

My plan is a bit more radical....Everybody just quit paying taxes til the system runs out of money... Money is power, with no money they have no power......
It's refreshing to hear that and I respect your opinions as well.Quote:

OK Denny, this is good. I'm gettin' some feedback.
Obviously we have to fine-tune the proposal.......
All veterans have already paid in all they are required to in service to their country and are excepted from the tax donation part of the proposal. Just show your DD214 at the IRS office and you're in. :)
One reason, and I'm by far no expert in case you didn't notice hah, is b/c they don't have the numbers YET to fight the fillibuster the Repubs use when they try and change policy. Another reason is that little "war" that keeps dragging on over there making things less stable in the region which drives up oil prices and there is also an increase in demand through out the world for oil(China, India). Oh yeah, that and the Dems overall are kind of spinless when push come to shove in my opinion. There are still a couple "good ones" on both sides Dems and Repubs- though not many.Quote:

Sure, why not???? Many of our politicians are for sale to the highest bidder, why would we be surprised if they all got together and sold the entire country to the highest bidder????? As for the Amero coin that would become the North American version of the Euro???? What is it's metal content, and where can I get one, it looks kewl and I'm something of a novice coin collector anyway....
So, which would be worse? A country being sold to the highest bidder or one that is repo'd by the Asians for non-payment of debts?????
Yep, the Amero will just be one more step in the steady march toward one-world government. As a matter of fact, as I think about it, that may be the reason for the dumbing down of America. To bring it more in line with the economies of lesser nations so the transition will be smoother. Maybe that's the reason there has been little or nothing done about the proliferation of illegal aliens.
Like many on this site, I, too, served my country - wouldn't take a million dollars for the experience and wouldn't give a nickle for another. Raised and trained by WWI and WWII vets. Eagle Scout, weaned on 'God and Country' - a hard-shell conservative, not Democrat, not Republican. And sadly what I have watched evolve are the ones who dodged, protested, and evaded serving are the ones running the country. Those who did their country's bidding, have either sold out to the wishes of their "bosses" or are not given the time of day.Quote:

What happened to the "Silent Majority"? or did it really ever exist? Sad
