To me my car is my personal piece of art. it is not correct for the year and i could care less. when they give me grief about it all i do is ask them if they know what a sleeper is. if they do then i give them a wink. if they dont i ask them to look it up and get back to me. as far as it goes beauty is in the eye of the beholder. and since i am the one that puts in my time and effort then it is my eye that is the beholder. the laws changed here last year for antique cars. had to jump through a few hoops to keep my antique tags. So with the help of the guys on this site i got it ready for inspection. When i got my car all it had inside was a dash, torn carpet, headliner, and back seat. the body was in decent shape. The rear seal leaked the suspension was shot and the fuel pumped leaked. But I still loved it. When I got it to pass a full inspection I actually got tears in my eyes. My girlfriend thought that i had lost it. I told her that it was easy for her to put a couple of hundred dollars in a 1999 expedition and get it passed but for her to put only 300 in a 37 year old vechile and try it. As for the rest of the folks out there that i will come across as cruise in season start they can all kiss my ass. There are alot of 71's out there but none quite like mine. I really want to win something beacuse i am competive as all get out but if i dont at least i know that i personally did my best. and I did it all myself. I have yet to farm out any work and do not plan too.

At least old enough to be you father.
I flagged a gal like you in '59 that was driving a brand new baby blue '60 Impala.

I will be 65 the 14th of August and my oldest daughter will be 40 ten days later.
    I admire your attitude.
