    Yeah, hurricanes are a concern, that's for sure. But wherever I've lived we had some natural disaster waiting to nail us. California has it's earthquakes, the midwest has it's tornados, parts of Washington has volcanos, etc. You just have to pick your poison.

    For years we paid no attention to hurricanes, then along came Charlie! I still have canned SPAM and candles in the cupboard from that little bit of excitement. I remember looking out through the slits on our lanai's hurricane shudders watching my boat rock and roll in the canal behind our house. It was a very sobering experience.
