    Smile Floor job

I built a garage a year ago with a heated floor.
I got a contractor to quote me on black and white VCT tiles.
He told me that I would have to keep the heat on all winter every winter or they would lift. I wasn't sure that I wanted to keep it on so I painted with the epoxy paint.
I now wisjh that I went with the tiles. I still might get the tiles after my car is finished and all the dirty work is done. I will be leaving the heat on all winter. It is about 20 C inside when it is -35 C outside.

VCT- Vinyl Composition Tile Standard commercial floor tile you can buy anywhere. the biggest draw back is the mastic. you have to use the very good, read expensive, industrial stuff to withstand petroleum based liquid spills. oil will soften most cheap mastics after a while.
I know this because I did my engine room in the shop with VCT and used a standard light duty mastic, read that as cheap, and it all came up.
