Yes, they still make new 7.62x54r. You can buy some brown bear SP's and FMJ's at gander mountain for about $14-$16 for 20 rds, or you can find the same thing online for $8, or you can buy it in bulk cans of about 400-500 rds leftover from a few decades ago for a nice price online, like this. 440 rds for $90

Those arisaka's are fairly expensive compared to a mosin that you can buy for about $80 online or at gander mountain for about $100 to $130, but they sure are nice!

and HOSS, that's a nice daytona coupe! i never paid much attention to them, but i'm starting to like the looks of them more.

I've always been leery of automatic pistols so I've totted 357 revolvers for home security and snakes but, after biting the proverbial bullet, I finally broke down and got this new "Toy" ! It's a Smith & Wesson 40cal Sigma and if it shoots as good as it handles then this should be a win win for the Wiffy and I.

I've heard that those aren't so good. If i recall correctly alot of people complain about the trigger pull being too heavy, i don't remember.

Yes, Jakashh,, I have heard that also but since I don't plan on using it for target shooting, only home defense and while traveling, I decided to save myself a couple hundred bucks. Can you believe that I have NOT fired it yet?? - LMAO

One of the reasons for the trigger pull is that it doesn't have a safety so therefore you have to take up the trigger slack before engaging the trigger.

I'll post my thoughts better after I have shot it several times !

If my youngest son drops by here Sunday on his way back from Texas State Guard Training, then I'll have a even better synopsis !

If I were a rich man I would send you a check fro $120 just for the mood changing affect your story had on me. After getting up this morning having a hard time moving both knees need surgery, left one needs replaced, right elbow hurts so bad needs to be replaced, back hurts all the time need another surgery, I have a sinus surgery coming up soon it's a little more complicated then just rhinoplasty. Each morning I'm ready to give up but this morning your story put me in a funny state that like I said if I were a rich man I would have to reimburse you for me feeling better at your expense.

Then your picture on the next post is really good. I tell my grandkids I have my barber to cut the round spot out on top of my head.

Yes, i remember that glock sued S&W for copying their gun with these guns, and that parts between the old version of this gun and the glock were interchangeable. So they changed many things into what it is now.

Believe it or not, i've had that mosin for almost a year and i've never shot it. Never had the time or interest.
