with my truck being bent up by the tree falling on it i had no desire to fix it and i was ready to get back to more of street driving so i bought the 84 tbird i had seen many times .. i pulled the 460 from the truck and bought a kit to put it in the bird .. it performed very poorly with the stock rear and gears do i adapted a 9 inch rear with a some 4:11 gears and really woke it up .. this is /was the baddest car i have ever built and the first one that i have a picture of .. it was a little bit heavier than the truck so it ran 2 tenths slower at the drag strip but i later added a 150 NOS shot and got it down to 7:70 in the 8th ,, i only lost one race in that car ,, a friend with a chevy truck with a nascar short track engine beat me by a half fender ,, the pro street pinto i had sold earlier to a fellow wound up murdering his wife and spent 25 years in prison .. i found where he had lived and went by many times but the place was long abandoned but the people nearby remembered the car and the house on the property had a garage that was never opened .. i like to think my pinto is locked behind that garage door .. i have no idea where the 460 pinto body wound up

a brief pause from memory lane .. i have lamented about changing from direct TV to Mediacom because of the lack viewing content but that has gotten a bit better lately .. i had never expanded my search guide beyond a few hundred numbers that i was familiar with on direct TV .. recently in a fit of boredom i ran thru every channel number in the book and found a few channels that i really enjoy .. i did not know i had the Motor trend channel .. i have the number 2 channel but there is a ton of new car fixem up shows i have never seen before .. i will inquire with my provider as to how to get the number 1 channel .. i have discovered what used to be the DYI network ,, it is now magnolia .. it has all the house fixem up shows i like so my TV boredom had been greatly reduced .. i have been looking at a 65 mustang that is for sale locally but it will need every body panel replaced and i dont know if i want to go that deep .. it is a 289 A code 4 speed coupe so it is a bit unique and will be worth whatever i put into it .. also a 84 third locally that i would like to get but i have absolutely nothing i need to build it like the one in my last post ..i have begun a vitamin regement recently and think i may be feeling a bit better and with spring just around the corner i may get in the mood to do something .. money is not a problem but i just cant make myself pay exaggerated prices people want for finished stuff these days .

the road less traveled .. back in the last century one day after work as i was heading home i ran into backed up traffic on 231 /431 highway north and knew that a bad accident must have happened at carriger road or walker lane ,, seeing traffic backed up for miles i beg a change in lanes from a fellow in a yellow chevy pickup .. i head back in the opposite direction for a few miles and attempt to get to my destination by circling back and going around the wreck .. i still needed to go directly north to get to my bank before they closed .. i turn left on Winchester rd and go east a few miles till i hit moores miil rd and attempt to go north .. a traffic lite is not working so i sit thru a dozen or two of first come first serve right of way drive thrus .. then i get caught behind a school bus on a curvy road that does not allow any passing for 5 miles or so .. i find i need gas and have to stop for that .. after about 30 minutes of out of the way driving i finally get back on walker lane the road that will lead me back to 231/431 north and at the red light i see the very same yellow chevy truck that let me u turn in front of him 30 minutes earlier ,, i drive 20 miles out of my way to end up exactly where i would have been if i had stayed in line to begin with ...

This is definitely Random Stuff....... I say this because all of the details about 231/431, carriger/walker/winchester/moores mill roads don't mean a thing if you don't live in the area, so it really becomes, "... ran into backed up traffic one day and decided to turn around, begging a lane change from the guy in the yellow pickup. After 30 minutes to drive 20 miles through back roads I finally got back on the main road only to see that same yellow pickup that let me turn around! We've all been there, done that and probably bought the T-shirt. Your memories, your story, your random stuff! All good, just random.

1999 has rolled around and i have finally stopped having to pay child support so i can pretty quickly save up a few bucks .. i grew tired of the Tbird so i take the motor and trans out and give the body to a fellow ford loving friend of mine .. the same fellow who wound up with my dented drag truck .. we have swapped and sold to each other our hand me down ford hot rod stuff for the past 40 years .. he has a 66 falcon sitting in his backyard and i get that from him along with a 351 Windsor short block and a T5 trans .. aluminum heads and big cam and 4:10 9 inch rear and this car is a blast for a minute .. i am coming from the gas station one day poking along behind a tractor and as soon as an opening comes up i pull out to pass and nail it .. soon as i get to his back wheel he cuts left into a pasture and send me into a big ditch .. luckily i had enuff speed up to get back out of the ditch but my front end had been damaged more than i could deal with .. alignment was off and such ,, only after about 3 months that car was canned in favor of a 64 falcon .. same drivetrain .. at the same time i have spotted a 69 mustang body in mississippi .. a friend with a garage wants my 64 falcon body and says he will go to mississippi and get the mustang and let me use his shop to build it if i would give him the falcon body .. so i had the 64 for about 3 weeks .. set the 351 5 speed out of the way for a bit .. i have begun construction of my own shop late in 99 ..

I had a '64 Falcon when I was much younger, tried to knock down a concrete and steel bridge railing with it. The bridge won.

I flew about 3000 miles to California to pay homage to a friend of mine that passed away two years ago. While I was there I decided to surprised my sister and brother-in-law. My friends wife was kind enough to drive me three hours north of her to surprise them. My brother-in-law asked for a hug for Christmas, so I was there to give him his gift. I heard later that my sister cried, I guess that surprise must’ve meant a lot to her.
The weather has been all over the place, from the mid 30’s to the 70’s. The picture is the view from my sister’s house

i guess i am the only person in the state of Alabama that does not have a phone number .. because of recent changes i can only pay my state taxes over the interweb but they require a daytime phone number .. perhaps they will subtract it from a future SSI payment .. it`s only 55 bucks .. or maybe i can get a neighbors number .. there are several things i cant do now because i dont have a phone .. i cant recover several online accounts that i have forgotten passwords to .. i cant call in sick to work .. if i die in my sleep i cant let anybody know .. all because i refuse to pay 40 bucks a month for essentially a pocket watch .. i am not thru with my car story history i have just been a bit i`ll lately and i have been trying to find some relevant pictures to go with my posts .. so many were lost to photobucket .. dont fall for their free hosting scam ..

No rest for the wicked. Been beating on the truck, disc brakes are on and I cut the firewall out of the donor truck to use in mine and salvaged what sheet metal in parts could be save from the donor front cowl section…

    Joe,
It's no big deal, but curious why you don't post on your build thread - Large Marge Transformation Begins

Mainly because it has to deal with purple monkey customs and Richard. As I said before when it’s finally done everything that man has touched will be removed from my vehicle, including the paint. I don’t even want his name associated with me. And I really don’t plan on posting many pictures because I am bad for not taking pictures. The only reason those were taken is because I had my phone in my pocket, it was the end of the day and I thought what the heck.
The other reason I don’t take pictures is I never know where I’m going to be the following week. Since the middle of January I have logged over 10,000 miles in the air and I’m not done yet. I may end up out on the West Coast for an extended period of time helping a friend repair her house and move. So I don’t even know the next time I’ll be working on it. And it is kind of random, lol
