I lost a son about a year ago. It's been very difficult to deal with. I have found since then that it is not an unusual occurence. Just in my own circle I have about 6 acquaintances who have lost sons.

What did shock me was that it happens to boys far more times than girls! For the girls, it is usually a traffic accident, but for boys it is often their choices that get them killed. I don't know if it is adreniline, testosterone, or "I'm invinceable", that causes it, but it seems too common.

I feel for Doug.
