    I like it.

My aunt gave me my late Uncles' Grandfathers gun. It's a pump action winchester 22. Haven't had a chance to fire it yet. I like to shoot my 7.62 x 54 cal Mosin Nagant Finnish rifle. It's dead nuts acurrate, cheap to fire, but has a hell of a kick. I'm good for 4 shoots before I start to twitch anticipating the recoil. For hand gun the goverment colt shoots well for me. I ran into an old timmer who was running a competition course with his Glock 9mm. He kept hitting slightly off to the lower left when he shot. The instructor looked at his hands, gave him a colt 45 to rerun the course. He beat everyone there that day. Turns out his hands are too big for the light small glock, but worked great with the wider grip heavier colt. I learned a lesson from him, went to a range with a buddy with lots of hand guns, and the colt commander was great! With my old Berreta 9mm, I was a losy shot. I went to buy a colt commander only to find out the aren't sold in Ca as new guns, haven't been drop tested so they are illegal. You can buy a used one, but hard to find, so I got the new Government Colt, and wow! Shoots great, not me, it ! It's like being a natural when you find the right weapon!
Sorry for the life story, here is a pic of the Winchester 1909 22. I just love the look of it!

I have the same one and a semi auto 22 (short's only)the same age, with peep sights on both, I grew up shooting them since early 60's, my dad got them from his paper route when he was a kid, he's 84 now. There is no better 22!!!!!!!!!!!! I have shot/owned many. I have 22's to 300 Win mag, I grew up shooting any time I wanted to to. we had a mile square farm with a small lake that we use to skip 22's to hit the target.
Grouse hunt with my 22 pump, and Squirrel hunt with my dad's 22 luger pistol (he got in WWII) it's loud for a 22. Bear hunt with a 308, 300 win mag, 45 scoped 10" pistol, fish with my bow since I was 10.
I even had my own Daisy BB gun when I was 8, and I didn't shot mine or any one else's eye out!!!

Stovens. Thats a model 62 Winchester. They are a very accurate .22 cal. Hang onto it they are collectors items. I've got an old model 61 myself.

Hard to beat the Remington Model 700 in .270 or 7mm mag to reach out there and touch something. No macho grande crap just a good affordable shooter.

I use a Model 336 Marlin 30:30 with a 1 1/2 - 4 scope, 24" barrel and pistol grip stock. A nice quick handling gun, accurate enough for the ranges I hunt and lots strong enough for whitetail deer and black bear. I have been using 150 grain ammo.

For hunting in North America, I am partial to the 30.06. I have a Springfield Model 1903 that was customized by my Dad back in the 60's. I added a Redfield 3x9 scope and got a beautiful Buck out in Arizona a few years ago. Lot's of folks like the .270 over 30.06 for flatter long shots. But I feel the .06 will shoot long with a lighter grain bullet for Antelope. Ammo is always readily available anywhere!
I have a Marlin 30.30 I keep at my Cousin's home in Alabama for Deer. It's great for a scope because it side ejects. Since the 30.30 flat nose bullet is no good for distance, it's perfect in the dense forest down there as most hunting is done from blinds or tree stands at less that 50 yards distance.
Scooter, good pick on the M-60. That one was many years ago.

So far, I've just got a Rock River Arms AR-15, entry-tactical model, chambered in .223. The gun show is coming back here in 2 weeks, maybe I'll find something good. Saw one of the .50 cal Barret sniper rifle at the gun store a few months ago, don't know what I'd do with it, but I'd love to have it.
    I ain't dumb, I just ain't been showed a whole lot!
