what is that stuff? some canuck experiment gone wrong? :D that will teach ya to hoard all the fender braces! :D:D
Hey Brian....keep that damn white stuff up there on your side of the lake! I'm not ready for this yet.
We didn't get any accumulation here in Rochester, but they got close to 8 inches in the southern tier of NY. Our long term forecast is now predicting temps in the 60's F next week. Good ol' northern weather! YUCK!
Pat
Hey FLH4speed....it's funny that you responded to Brian's post the way you did. People used to always ask me where I planned on moving when I was ready to retire. I used to say, I have a plan. I'm going to attach a snow shovel on the hood of my car and keep driving South. The first person who asked, "What the hell is that on the front of your car?" That's where I'll stay! (LOL)
Pat
as weird as the weather has been , it just might snow in miami any day now:D
I hate to say it out loud, but we could really use some of that.
This fall has been nice, low 80's yesterday.
Makes up for the two day's of fall we got last year.
Supposed to remain dry here till February . . . so say's the long range forecast.
Lake Mead - and the other big desert lakes - and the river are the lowest they've been in years and maybe as low as it's ever been.
Note the high and low water marks at Hoover Dam (east of Las Vegas) in the pic taken last Saturday.

Here's another coming down the hill in the 32.

The white spots are sailboats.
And Eldorado Dry Lake next to Hwy 95 S/E of Las Vegas.
http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f2...yLakeTrip1.jpg
I went out there to meet some Las Vegas hot rodders who were going to make some easy runs in a dry lakes car.
Didn't find em, but they found what I did . . . namely the lake is so rough that nobody's gonna get a lakes car much over idle in low gear.
Our dry lake is doing much better.
It get's a little more rain than the Las Vegas area does.

Oh, it's not all that hot here either Brian. It got down to 65 last night!!!
Hahaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahhahahahaha. \
( Sorry. We Florida people live to rub this stuff in :LOL: :LOL: :LOL: :LOL: :LOL: )
Don
That white stuff........I've seen that on Christmas cards! I think it is called "Snowcone filling". :-)
Send some this way Brian!!!! There's a brand spankin' new 1000cc Yamaha 4 stroke sled I'm just waiting to try out!!!!! 90 on snow is a trip!!!!! We don't let a bit of the old white stuff stop the hot rodding around here, just put away the wheels and get out the sleds.... Friend of mine is just finishing up his new toy for the winter, complete with trubo and nitrous on a 700 cc 3 cylinder!!!! A foot of snow in the field right across from the store would be just perfect right now!!!!! Then after 1 test ride I'll be ready to put the snow shovel on the hood and be a participant in the experiment Pat suggested!!!!!:LOL: :LOL: :LOL: :LOL:
I still have the A/C turned on.
:( Yeah, they're predicting a record temp here in Vegas today..................84. Ain't global warming great?!:D
As usual I want the best of both!!! Hopefully we'll get some significant snow early this year so I can get in my sled ride, then get down South before the temperatures drop too much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Snow? Egads~ Nooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Its not here yet and i am further North than Brian,but itll show up sooner or later:CRY: :CRY:
Better get the snowmobile out pretty soon ,am going to the antique snow drags with my dads 78 Polaris Cobra this year so will have to get his tuned up too.
The fun never ends hunting season is here now :whacked: :whacked:
Their calling for snow showers here in southern central PA on Friday.:mad: Erie got a few inches yesterday (lake affect snow), so I guess it won't be long. But I can wait, my electric bill still looks like September's because of no need for A/C or heat, so that makes me happy. Plus I still have the grass deck on the tractor and the snowplow and snow blowers are still in storage.
So enjoy it Brian, but don't send it south.:LOL: :LOL:
Thanksgiving (US version, that is) weekend is the 'scheduled' date to put the blower on the tractor. Please keep that white stuff North of the Border til after that date. Heck, the oak and red maples haven't even dropped their leaves yet but winter must be coming as the usual turkey flock showed up yesterday to help clean up the very few acorns we have this year.
Brian......My sister in law is from Barrie too.......You should hear her whine about the snow..........You would think that living in Barrie all her life, she would be used to it. Got about 2" here in Hanover..............mostly melted during the day.
i better hurry up ive got one last chance to take the car down the track for a few runs. its good to know the owner :LOL:
I lived in Mn for 54 yrs, and never complianed about the cold!, I have my house up for sale, and when it does! I'm moving near Maryville, Tn! :D
Anyone want to buy a remodeled 3+1br, 2 bath walk out basement & 26x30 heated & AC garage, with woods in the back, on a dead end street? :)
Pat
When you get dealt lemons ......make lemonade ......well when nature freezes ,....Go racing!!!!!!!!
A simple rear tire change and you are on your way to the ice drags!!!:LOL:

Can you imagine how much power the motor will make when you cool the intake charge to 10 degrees below zero.:eek:
Shame you're so far away Dave, we could have a little snowblower mounting party. I was planning on putting mine on the same weekend. I am tired of cutting grass any way for this season.:LOL: :LOL:Quote:

You guys from Florida can laugh for now, but I'll take the our short snow season over your hurricane season and the damn love bugs anytime.:eek: :LOL: :LOL:
Hey Bob, I was down your way in June to visit and you never showed up - and now you want to party??Quote:

Hey Brian! Maybe it's time you became a "snowbird". Pack up the "Boss" and hie yourselves to Las Vegas for another visit. I guarantee you won't cook your brains this time. Been running mid seventies to eighties daytimes, high fifties to low sixties at night. :cool: :toocool:
Snow there already? It's in the 60's here in NC. Sometimes 50s and 30's at night. Brian, all I have to say is that poor RPU can't be cooped up in the garage all winter, I am going to come pick it up and bring it to my house so it can unleash itself and stay nice and warm here... All I ask is you leave the gas tank on Full for me please and I wont charge you interest. :P
Brian, don't let us weather braggarts bring you down cuz you got some white stuff sittin' on the ground.
You'll be spinnin' down the highway in 85 degree July roadster weather and we'll be whining about the 108 degree temps here in the Dez....
Nostalgia Drags at Speedworld Dragstrip this coming Sunday.
Speedworld is about 30-40 miles north of Phoenix near Surprise, Arizona.
NHRA rules cars not required.
Just some reasonableness and what looks to be a well-built car + safety helmet for open cars.
They will be running 1/8 mile drags and I understand they have timing lights set up for both 1/8 and 1/4 mile times.
I believe the entry fee for the car and driver is $15.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A quote from the promoter.
"Arizona and Southwest Hambers get your Rods and Betties ready for Sunday Nov. 18th, we are gonna have us a great time. Drag racing and free car show with the $15 spectator entry fee doesn't get any better. We're having 1/8 mile stop light drags and 1/4 mile racing. Gates open at 8:00 am- Time trials at 9:00am and Eliminations at 1:00pm. Speedworld is located on Happy Valley Rd off Grand Ave/Hwy 60, 7.5 miles North of Bell Rd in Surprise.
C9---not to worry. I hate the damn snow and cold, but I don't have to contend with tornados, typhoons, tsunamis, wildfires, earthquakes, nor drought.:cool: :LOL: :LOL:
We just call that wind down here...
It snows here 1-3 times per winter, 1" - 2", but usually melts off by afternoon.
