    Engine Covers

I know this subject has been discussed before but I thought
I might bring up my experience with it and solicit some comments.

I'm currently running a cover that is normally found on an Australian Holden.

Some of you have seen my 56 Olds/LS1 conversion and commented on the
    Corvette engine covers.
I'm in total agreement....I've never liked them but didn't really know what might look better.

In my humble opinion, nothing looks worse than an LS anything with no engine covers. Even when everything is chromed there are engines that look allot better.

Here are a few shots of the engine bay and it's current installation.
While it's not my favorite, It looks a bit better than the phony Vette covers I used to run.
I thought I might post them here and get some comments.
    What better place.......
I guess I still have to option to paint any of them or even have something custom worked up....

The first clip is what I started with, Vette Covers
The Second is the Holden cover I got from an Australian Parts House
The Third is a green LS1 set available from the same Parts place
The Fourth and Fifth are also available from the same place.

It should also be noted that some of the serpentine arrangements make
the Power steering filler cap inaccessable from the top of the cover.
I have a custom plug on mine.

Why don't you just relocate the coils and put some decent valve covers on it?I'll take a couple pics of an engine that we're working on ---has fabricated covers and a polished alum manifold--

I live in the past, so I have to say none of those do anything for me. I'm also not nuts about the fad of building a complete cover over the engine so that when you open the hood all you see is painted sheetmetal. I like to see the workings of an engine. JMO.
