I sure am glad that my remote has a button labeled "Power" for this hot rod travesty at So-Cal. It got "cancelled" in my house. Maybe they need the bucks - their ego parts prices are so high that there is no way my car, and many other folks I've talked to, will advertise them. And much of it is poor quality.Dave

Out of all the Apprentices, only Dave (Littleman) really knows his stuff. The ex'gangbanger looks like he has turned a wrench or two , but Dave has built a few really sharp rods, and is a machinist by trade. As for the two girls, I'm glad the one bailed out, and that the other is probably standing on a banana peel.
On another forum where this topic was also being discussed, Dave responded with a post. He explained his motivations for trying this out, and also his reluctance and fears about moving from Ohio to California. He came across as a nice guy who has his head screwed on straight, and was apparently well known and respected by the other members.
The show evidently was shot starting in about April, and the 90 day "training period" should be over. I'm sure he was sworn to secrecy, but he sort of hinted that he was living back in Ohio, so it looks like he wasn't the chosen one. That might be by his own choosing, or maybe they replaced the girl(s) with some guys who actually were serious about securing a job there, and had short fingernails.
The show may improve, because I remember the early shows of American Chopper were really bad, what with Paul Sr. REALLY being a jerk. After a while it got at least watchable, and the show found it's pace a little more. We will soon know, won't we?

Let's mark this one on the calendar, July 20, 2007, as Dave S and Dave W have finally come to an understanding. Once. (And we probably even agree on Boyd's show)

Yes - Dan from Chop, Cut and Rebuild was on another forum. He basically was fried in oil - and he made a valiant defense of his show but even the mods flamed him which upset me. He and I had several PM's back and forth - but he bailed out and quite frankly, don't blame him and this is one of the better shows. Also, Barry White's daughter defended her dad, also on that forum - and very well.Dave

Gee, I can't IMAGINE what forum THAT MIGHT BE.
I couldn't agree more with you that there is no call to do that sort of thing. I get furious when I see someone just trying to ask a question or posting something and the "gang" piles on. But, it happens because the owner of the forum allows it to happen. If anything like that went on here, not only would the mods take care of it, the members themselves would not tolerate it.
I think that Jerry Springer comment is very accurate, and it also applies to some forums.

What happens with a lot of these forums and their threads is that people hide under their anonymity with a screen name and feel that as an unknown they can say anything they want without reprecussion. My feelings about those folks is best left out of this. There are several forums that I belong to for whatever reason - but there are only 4 or 5 that I participate regularly due to their inflamatory nature. There are a couple of folks that I choose not to correspond with in each of them - even here - just to keep peace in my own mind.
With that said - I'm off to Syracuse in my F350Guzzle10 in the early AM for the Right Coast nationals - and possibly see some great to outrageous cars !!!

Tv ?
It really makes one wonder if any of these yahoos' that produce these shows ever visit Hot Rod websites and listen to the gripes we post.I think everyones in agreement that we would rather learn the construction that goes into the build intead of this "drama" crap we have to suffer through

I check in everyday and some are better than others. I don't think Brent has anything to do with the forum anymore, but I'm not sure. Hopefully as time moves on the forum will get better.
Where is everybody?
