The money that Pete gets for this show is probably a LOT more than he will get building hot rods.

Yeah . . . right . . .Jimmy Shine, the fabricator deluxe from SO-CAL Speed Shop who's being groomed to become the next superstar of hot-rodding, a gritty counterpoint to the polished Chip Foose.
But this is showbiz, after all, and you've gotta have a gimmick. In the case of Hard Shine, five trainees have been selected for their diversity. They range from a tattooed gangbanger with a prison record to a woman whose inspirations include fencing, silent movies, bebop and rat-rod culture (and who owns a Cadillac hearse). Besides helping Shine with build-ups of six hot rods, they also embark on road trips to racetracks, dry lakes and beaches, with life lessons learned — and ignored — along the way.
Part documentary and part soap opera, Hard Shine has been structured to appeal to general-interest viewers as well as gearheadsLast edited by Henry Rifle; 07-13-2007 at 06:58 AM.
