Cosmoline is grease. The army used (uses) it to pack weapons, never to rust. In 1962 Ford built the last Edsel and my wish, back then had I the $$, was to buy one and pack it in cosmoline for sale as an antique. Looks like Tulsa should have done the same and this Plymouth might look a lot better.1951 Chevy 3600 Long Box

John, I hate to argue with you but the Last Edsel was produced in the first week of February 1960. The funny part is AMT corporation made more plastice models of the 60 Edsel than Ford made real ones. Originally Posted by John Brian Originally Posted by John BrianDuane S

 That's what Boyd said.

Too bad if it's beyond even a simple restoration. I would have loved to see it come out pristine. A dramatic looking car when it went into the hole!

In one interview Boyd was asked what he would like to bury for 50 years. His answer......."the ex wife"! LOL!

Yeah, Boyd does not seem to be a happy camper right now

I'll be heading over to the unveiling in a little bit to see what the car looks like uncovered.

So far spent most of the afternoon talking to some people I havent't seen in years and looking at some more cars that came in.

Should also find out tonight if they even have the list of names of people who might win the car. There was some question about if it had been in the car or the time capsule (which seemed to be intact).

Here's some pictures I took of the car being backed into the conventin center.I've NEVER seen a car come from the factory that couldn't be improved.....

Maybe Boyd should sit down and have a drink with Geraldo Rivera. This is reminiscent of Al Copone's vault. But you never know until it's cleaned up.

I find it interesting that they picked Boyd to try to get it started. Half the time they have trouble getting a brand new crate motor to start on their TV show!

They should find a good ol' boy hammer mechanic from down at the corner garage. He'll know how to git er done!

PatOf course, that's just my opinion, I could be wrong!
