Brent, CHR post replies are coming in to my regular Earthlink email rather than the "suspect mail" box as they are supposed to. I have not, to the best of my knowledge given permission for this type of email to come to my computer without passing through some sort of filter - which, at this time, it is not. As I said in my previous post, I do enjoy the correspondance here, but not without controls. There are too many fruitcakes in the world that think it is great fun to corrupt someone elses computer to chance this by piggybacking somebody's post to me (and 2 more just came in while writing this).

I'm running a Dell 4700 wMS XP/MS IE7/EarthlinkDave

Also glad to see you back Brent. Problem I was having was that the thread screen was different. There was no "post reply" block, and some pictures were not coming up, replaced by "attached images" written in a box in the middle of the screen where the pictures are normally.
It was also moving very slowly.
Aside from that, everything was fine.
Don
Oh, no icons either

Don, it really sounds like you're not correctly logged in when you don't see the buttons, etc. Try deleting your cookies and then log back in to see if this helps.
With regards to the email notifications, I had turned off the email service for some maintenence and had forgotten to turn it back on....I believe you got spammed with days worth of notifications all at once.Brent Mills

If necessary, I'll "resign" from CHR on a temporary basis then reapply, which, unfortunately, will make me a newbie again
. I cannot have unprotected emails coming in to my PC !!!

Denny, it sounds like this "was" happening, but is now ok? Dave, I think you're saying it still happens for you (no need to re-register, I'll get it squared away)?Brent Mills

Brent - still going on, but since Earthlink offers anonymous email addresses, I changed mine to one of them until you tell me it's OK. PITA, but hope to keep the spammers and idiots away from my hard drive. So far works wellDave

I'm not sure I understand here....Are you saying you're getting spam (as in with virusus/malware) from CHR? Now keep in mind, people spoof mail headers to look like they are coming from places they aren't all the time. The system is clean, so I will find that very hard to believe.

Not yet - Earthlink is supposed to put all unsolicited or unknown persons (that is not allowed by lack of my specific permission) email into a Suspected Spam Folder. Since I don't know idividuals who are posting, any mails from CHR are supposed to go into that folder - which they did up until about 2 weeks ago. To confuse the issue more, there is a Known Spam Folder as well. I can choose to look at suspected emails, which, if it says it's from CHR I will. If it is from an unknown in for instance, Austria, such as I got earlier today, out it goes, it gets dumped as spam and reported back to Earthlink. These never reach my hard drive, but stay on Earthlinks

I have it sucessfully coming in to my Earthlink anonymous email box now - and will try the "old method" (regular) again in a few days. If the emails are then not sent to the correct in box, will then advise (I will, either way)

Smarty pants, Denny. Yeah, we know, Brent likes you better than the rest of us, that's why YOU get so many emails. You could share a few, you know.
