Thanks Corvette64, wish I still had that ride today just the thought of splashing another tailgater gets me to giggle. Warpped sense of humor I guess.

Lets Resurrect this thread.....
It seems to be getting worse everywhere. I wanted to resurrect this thread along with FLH. It was just 5 years ago when I was tooling along the interstate just east of Springfield, Mo on my 7R. Yes....I use to ride the race bikes, but even at that time most people would concider me a conciderate rider. None of that lane splitting for me, or wheelies at 80 MPH. Did that enough when I was younger. Anyway....I learned a little trick from a fellow rider (60 year old Hog rider with lots of highway miles)....He suggested I carry a bag of ball bearings and explained that I should use them if I ever got into a situation that I didnt feel I could get out of. A guy in a beatiful new Z06 decided to take his days problems out on me, pulled up behind me, we're both cruising at 65, flashes his lights, so I pull over, he pulls over, I start to get off the bike not knowing what was going on, (daytime), he backs up spinning his tires. I know then this guy had a problem. I take off, getting up to 100+ with the guy on my tail, I back down on the throttle for fear of a serious ticket, (mind you there are people everwhere seeing this), he gets right on my back and rubs the bike. Scared the crap out of me! I reached for bag of bearings...and you know the rest. Makes a lot of noise! I will usually try to avoid confrontation. But, I'm definitely not beyond vigilate tactics when it comes to protecting my families welfare....which is me! Within a couple of weeks....I sold the bike. I decided I was better off behind 4 wheels and now carry my trusty Super Redhawk 454 Casull most everywhere. Even where I live, small town of about 11,000, we have to deal with the road ragers! What of the guy in the Z06?......he pulled off and decided he had enough! If I had reported this to the police nothing would have ever been done. Ive been down that road more than once and nothing was ever done. You could say "One wrong does not a right make", but tell that to my children if I'm dead. If it wasnt for my love of hot rods....i'd say....bring back the horse! LOL's!

what these people with all this rage need is a hobby. like ours. then they can have a reason to cuss and flip things off when parts break or tools give way

I couldnt agree more. Ive seen a lot of tools fly over the years. Mine, my dad, my friends. I stopped doing that though. I got tired of having to fix what I hit.

i dont suffer road rage but i do have a couple pet peaves .. i dont like tailgaters and i dont like people who pass on the right such as using overpass ramps or turning lanes to get ahead of me .. my little pinto aint no speed demon but with the V6 chevy you better have a pretty quick car to get around me on the right .. iv`e had plenty folks have to brake real hard when they see themselves running out of road.. i drive the speed limit so i know you professional speeders hate to get behind meiv`e used up all my sick days at work .. can i call in dead ?

Wow! what a thread! Itoldyouso and ratty have it right! smiles in hostile situations work wonders!
Here is my contribution...
I'm driving my '48 chev pu down a two lane road where the right lane merges into the left 300' from an intersection, I'm in the left lane since I'm not turning and will be proceeding down the road. Now the '48 is looking like its powerful, but it's got a 235-6 in it.
Anyway, up on the right comes an '87 mustang with a whole bunch more displacement than I've got, but he's too late to make it past me on the right so he has to swerve in behind me and he is pissed off! All over my tailgate, flashing lights, honking horns and flippin me off. I apply the Itolyouso/ratty technique and smile and wave.
Oh boy, he gets closer and starts pointing over to the side of the road, he wants to stop, get out of the car and beat my poor fat a** to a pulp...I'm driving a chebbie after all!
So I look back, point to the side of the road and shrug my shoulders in a quizical manner and nods his head very fast and points to the side of the road...I point to the side and start to hit the brakes. He immediately pulls right with his eyes on me and runs into a speed limit sign (35 mph) which quickly bends and bashes in his fiberglass hood!
I kept going and wave goodbye!
just keep smiling and let those folks do their thing!...at least I'm enjoying the ride!

I check in everyday and some are better than others. I don't think Brent has anything to do with the forum anymore, but I'm not sure. Hopefully as time moves on the forum will get better.
Where is everybody?
