Well, I know in Indiana, driving in the left lane is just as legal as driving in the right. But road rage is deffinently everywhere around here. Just a normal part of life anymore it seems.

In Australia we have mostly overtaking lanes for 2 miles in every 20 or so miles in high traffic areas in the country. What really pisses me off is people who drive slowly and then speed up in the overtaking lane, and then slow down again. Most of the time speed scares them so you go past at 100mph and problem solved.
There is no need for rude people on the road, unfortunately they are not normally the ones killed by the stupid actions.

Corvette64, I can understand where she was coming from. Didn't you "know" you were on "her" highway. You are just inconsiderate. hehe

On another note. Have you guys had people fly up behind you and ride your ass when you're out driving your classic/customs? They do it here and it makes me very nervous. I used to be able to take the vette out to the country and cruise the back roads. Now the back roads are full of soccer moms in their SUV's and minivans, simultaneously talking on the cell, smoking a cigarette, eating a cheeseburger and whipping the kids in the back seat with the belt. All the while driving 2 feet away from my fiberglass behind.

We had a f'rinstance last summer. We were out in the Cobra, and heading home on the Coast Road. Some eejit on a big cruising motorbike started tailgating quite literally 3ft behind me.
Now I know this road like the back of my hand, I've been driving it for over forty years, so I let him think he was "pushing" me through the corners at Tataramaika at around 60mph. All these corners are posted at 60kph, around 35mph.
Out on the straights again I let him think he was pushing me up to 70mph.
THEN...the big one.....the right-angle corner at Pitone Road, posted at 50kph, 30mph. I floored the Cobra, hung the arse out a bit, and took that corner at 90mph.
Then slowed down to watch the fun in my mirror.
He had to lay the bike over, braked hard, started to slide, stood the bike up, headed for the fence, laid the bike over again, stood it up again, and managed to regain some control. Man he was all over the place like a madman's $hit! He'd even lost his footing; had to get his feet back on the pegs
I tootled off down the road at a sedate 100kph, 60mph, and he stayed 150ft behind me, even up the passing lanes at Okato, he wasn't going to get close to me again
She Who Must Be Obeyed turned around and said: "Someone was upsetting you weren't they?"
Now how did she know that?

Violence is everywhere, even settling in to small town, South Dakota. Had a drive by shooting today, neighbor kid came down the alley on his bicycle, got me with his squirt gun!!!! Got the water hose out and waited for him, but he was smart enough not to come by again....
Why even mess with the road rage idiots? Just pull over and stop, let them go mess with somebody else. Never seen any of it worth making an issue out of.Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

On the left lane thing, I think we out to just say you can't use the highways unless you can pass a German driving test (which involve lane discipline, emergency lane changes, and changing a flat tire...or at least they used to not sure if this still goes on). Things move so much more efficiently if the left lane is used for passing and passing only.
Anyways, on to road rage. So I'm on a two-lane (one in each diretion) road at night with a 55mph speed limit, and there is this Ford SUV doing about 25-30. I keep my proper following distance until I come to a passing zone, and proceed to pass. Just as I roll out to pass, he nails his brakes. I think, that's odd, maybe he was just overzealously trying to make it easy for me to pass. About a minute later he's about 5 inches from my bumper with his highbeams on, and makes it clear that no matter how fast I go he's going to stay that close to my bumper. He follows me through some side roads, through a gas station, I get enough ground on him to lose him, but I figure I'll just wait at the redlight in case it has one of those cameras and see what happens (I figure there are a few people about, he probably won't kill me). He comes up behind me, get out of his car, walks up to mine, starts threatening me and telling me he's going to kick my ass (which is laughable because he's marginally sober and about 8 inches shorter than me). I just acted politely and said I apologize for whatever I did to upset him and after about a minute of yelling he goes back to his car and speeds off. I still don't know to this day what his problem was.

A burglar broke into a house one night. He shined his flashlight around, looking for valuables when a voice in the dark said, 'Jesus knows you're here.' He nearly jumped out of his skin, clicked...
