Getting this thing wrapped up. It’s running and sounds good. Dash is in, carpet is in, a few wiring snafus to figure out under the dash and the seats and console can go in.

This car has been eating my lunch the last few weeks. I spent several days chasing down electrical gremlins and getting them fixed. Typical old car stuff from 40 year old bad connections; a couple of gauges that didn't work, blower motor that shut itself on and off, bad connections on 1/2 the dash lights, etc. Got it all working and put the dash back together.
So I hook up a tach and did the cam break in. Everything runs great and all the vitals look good until I walk around the other side of the car and the heater core is puking coolant on the ground.:CRY: Yep, everything I just buttoned up; back apart again.
Yeah, the war stories are part of the fun of it. They're just not very fun at the time they're happening!
I feel your pain, IMHO old Vettes are as bad or worse. The cargo light in my Vette didn't work. The orange ire that fed it had been poked with a scribe or awl and over the years was corroded. It was in a bundle under the left kick plate near the door jam. I cut about a foot out and replaced it with new wire and no more problems. The vacuum system is another story.
Forty year old cars do have a habit of teaching us patience and humility!
the heater core is placed on the assembly line and the car is built around it. Typical thought process by enginerds whom have never turned a wrench.
No kidding! A lot of good old cars were probably junked because of the shop cost to change a heater core.
Just about wrapped up; finishing putting together a few things this week and he's picking it up this weekend.
Will you be glad to see it go? Or????
It definitely got it's fair share of four letter words hurled at it since its been here. But it kind of grew on me, too. Reminded me a lot of my high school days when I took it down the road.
I can surely imagine the list of expletives! THAT WAS a PILE..... of work.:rolleyes:
I hope "they" do actually finish what they started, there has been a lot invested already. And with that, I'll tip my hat to you! Another awesome piece of.... work!
I have a sign in my garage that says, "Warning: Profanity Used Here."
Happiest part of the project!
