Very Nice!
Got some more done today; the block is prepped and ready for assembly while I had my helper (car owner Andrew) learning how to disassemble an interior.
Moving right along. The motor looked pretty decent inside so it just got gaskets, timing set, oil pump, and a cam upgrade.
We're making some progress; been stripping a lot of stuff from the parts car, bolting stuff back on the engine, and figuring out how were going to do the body repair. The back half of this car was really rough; both quarters, rear wheel wells, trunk floor and the inside of the decklid were junk. So all those parts will be coming of the parts car and going on here. Along with building one good tilt column from two junk ones and transferring the entire interior over to this car. The parts car also had a good Flowmaster dual exhaust system we're going to reuse so he definitely got his money's worth from that car.
That car is looking very nice. You are doing great work sir!
.
Thanks. It's been a fun one to work on; something different for sure. He doesn't want to foot the bill for a repaint right now so we're just going to cure the cancer, put the back half in sealer primer, and put in the interior so he can drive it around.
Already planning the next one; I should be inheriting a 61 Impala 4dr hardtop in a few months.
Got a couple of solid days in this week. We got the back half of the parts car cut of and transported it to my house. It’s actually a 73 rather than 75. The plan is to transplant the quarters, rear panel, and deck lid and make it a 77/73 hybrid. Should be interesting to say the least.
I got some more stuff bolted on the engine, got the q-jet rebuilt, and put together a good tilt column.
Looks like you scored a really nice back half! Great progress on the car, it's looking good!
Thanks! It’s pretty solid except for under the vinyl top; same problem as the 77. I’m going to have to figure out some creative repair on the top.
FWIW, this guy sell a decent choke conversion for a Quadrajet. I have one on my 76 Vette. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Electric-Ch...8AAOSw8ZBbkCgY
Chop, chop, chop
.....gasp!
