$2-$3k would be earnest money on the project.
OK maybe not that bad, but not every shop can do it (right) and those whom can don't come cheap.
Have you considered simply changing the shocks first?.
Education is expensive. Keep that in mind, and you'll never be terribly upset when a project goes awry.
