It definitely sucks to repair someone's hacked work. To me it looks like your vacuum line issue saved you a lot of money. If that line didn't get torn off, you may have not caught the strut rod mounts ripping off your frame. It really looks like the car ht some huge chuck holes because the mounts appear ripped out of the frame and it looked like the frame rail had some distortion too. Nice job repairing it though.
Don't get too discouraged with it. At least you can drive yours! It'll be a while before I can finish fixing all the PO's work on my car!
