See if you can find a pair of Fiero buckets. They're narrower than most, have great support, and sit really low so adapting them to the truck should be EZ.

We're both pretty stuck on keeping it a bench seat, I know buckets would probably be more comfortable, but it just doesn't look right to me. We're going to get it recovered in cloth one of these years, maybe they can do something with the butt pad then. From what I can tell and from what I'm hearing, it is what it is, I guess the older I get, more I don't mind getting out every hour and half to stretch my legs anyway.
Try these to see if padding is the issue;

LOL!!! Hide em under the seat when you park..
Hey guys, I'm new around here. Love that truck and color. I have one just like it. Could I ask where you got your windshields an window glass ?
Ok, thanks. Was hoping to find thick glass like the original .but that might not be available anymore. Your build is really looking good.
Seth, the seats in the newer mini vans are pretty cushy. Can you adapt one of them in Rita? I have similar issues in my orange truck. There just isn't enough cab room in those older trucks. At least you were able to get Rita out. The roads here were still nasty then they re applied the liquid rust again.
Rita left Kari stranded today. I think I got some dirt getting into the fuel tank some how because the fuel filter was plugged again. That's two filters in 8,000 miles. I am suspecting the Tanks capless filler neck on top of the tank is taking in some dirt. At least there is always a ton of dust in that area from driving on the gravel road. Anyhow, she was in Sioux Falls with my mom and I got a call at work from her and I am about an hour away, my mom said it sounded just like the time me and her went to see the Big Boy steam train. Our Car Quest didn't have the filter so I went up there with a can of brake clean to flush it out and it was brown yuk coming out. The sky was turning dark and nasty and just as I got it running it started to rain, not just any rain, I'm talking cats and dogs and 5 gallon bucket at a time rain. It was like that the entire way home, we could hardly see the road for 50 miles. She got it in the shed and she said there was water coming from everywhere in the cab. I did find the radio antennae leaking and we knew about the center windshield divider, I suppose I better get after it. There is always something to. LOL here is a picture of it drying out :LOL:
That’s a little strange. Maybe it’s time to add another, bigger fuel filter?
Yea, something isn't right. I'm hoping to find the problem vs adding filters though, the dust swirls pretty bad back there,I'll check it out soon.
capless filler neck?
Glad you were able to get it home vs. leave it out in the rain too long!
How's your tank vented? It's hard to imagine the "capless" filler being the culprit.
